  1. I loled. They should have stopped in Columbia instead. MIZ-ZOU!
  2. So apparently no more "Empire State of Mind" will be played on the Fan Network due to music licensing...not happy.
  3. I have also noticed the "ballad" part of Channel One Suite ...the chords are for the most part dead on. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed this!!!
  4. You are asking if there is a show that can gain enough support from fans to possibly propel itself past BD? I don't believe so. 2008 was a rare case where Phantom had a show that greatly appealed to almost anyone (myself included). I don't think there is a show that can appeal to everyone in the same way. Sure, I like the Cavaliers and Bluecoats a lot this year, but the show just is not "legendary" in the sense and BD has the technical advantage. I just wish BD could be technically superior and have the wide mass appeal that other corps situated below have.
  5. http://www.dci.org/scores/ I think I remember BK being ABOVE Madison earlier...now the Colts and Crossmen have them beat. Probably just an error.... Edit: 8.6 point penalty for BK??? That can't be right....
  6. I'm not enjoying the season as a whole much so far. Challenging shows, but few that entertain me so far.
  7. I am sick, but couldn't help laughing even if it does hurt!
  8. If every drum corps tries to design a show the way BD has then get me the #### out of here. I don't want "smart" design. I want real drum corps!!!
  9. It's cool having Brandt Crocker as the announcer for Marching Mizzou's pregame
  10. I find it more impressive IN A SEASON (not since the dawn of time...which some seem to be straying to) for an underdog to win. Sure, you can win every show before finals with a program that is clean from the beginning of the season to the end, but I like corps that challenge themselves from the get-go and do not necessarily start out clean, but clean it enough to take the title in the end.
  11. I think DCP might have actually had something to do with PR winning...so many threads on how the show was amazing, and if they didn't win there was something wrong with the judges. I agreed that PR should have won though. One of the most epic shows I've ever seen.
  12. I didn't like the Cadets' show early in the season, but it grew on me once I got past the narration. That show was incredible! BD was strong that year also, but I thought the Cadets should have taken it in the end.
  13. Added comments to each point made I thought I'd like the show more after seeing it live in Murfreesboro...nope. It was performed very well, but I was more excited watching almost any other corps that performed over those 2 days. They have amazing talent, but the show just bores me, and I blame the drill on that.
  14. Well...when I went to Murfreesboro is was technically: West Side Story 2009: Conflict and Resolution (as far as I remember Brandt Crocker announcing it...I was drinking before the show though )
  15. Name of the 2009 production is "Conflict and Resolution"....
  16. Boston - 2009 PR - 2008 Cavies - 2008 Blue Devils - neither...but 2008 I liked more Carolina Crown - tough call...2008 Cadets - 2009 Bluecoats - 2009 Blue Stars - 2008 Glassmen - 2008...the only Glassmen show I liked Blue Knights - 2009 Madison Scouts - 2008 Troopers - 2009 Crossmen - 2008 SCV - 2009
  17. For me it would be: 1. Cadets 2. Crown 3. Boston Crusaders 4. SCV 5. Bluecoats 6. Madison Scouts
  18. Just got back from the show! Here's my take on things: Boston Crusaders were easily the crowd favorite. Very entertaining, very well played! Cadets were a little weak in the high brass it seemed, compared to the other top corps. Visual was OUTSTANDING! Blue Devils show is "meh" for me. Very clean all around, but I just don't like the show. Bluecoats added a new ending...still can't quite find closure to the show though (The drum major turns into a cloud person too after two color guard members climb the podium to him and take off his jacket...there I ruined it for someone) Academy was excellent! I was very surprised at how clean the brass and visuals were, and how powerful they sounded. Possible to make top 12. Phantom made major improvements in staging and telling the story of "The Red Violin" as far as I can tell. It wen over well with the audience, and the judges! That's all I have for now. I need to sleep.
  19. SA scores are up! http://www.dci.org/scores/?event=7152c963-...d4-7ee7a58d9c42
