  1. I don't know who you are, but I'd appreciate it if you didn't bring up personal events about me on DCP, it brings shame to your corps, your family, and America. I'm just very sensitive about drum corps ;(
  2. I thought this was going to be in reference to the year I marched, except the alleged comment was to a 14-year old, which then led to a HILARIOUS out of uniform encounter at a convenience store after a show. I think we need to keep it light in this thread. We all have negative opinions about certain corps, and I don't think anyone's going to change people's minds who don't have such negative opinions about these corps. As for Boston's elbows, I never had problems personally when I did retreat with their hornline (although I have heard some old stories about encounters). Out of uniform, they seem alright.
  3. Yeah, it's pretty entertaining, but you think they'd win in a fight against the 1995 Madison Scouts? No chance!
  4. 21-22 seems like a good age-out age. Once you get past that age, it's time to get on with the rest of your life.
  5. I do it sometimes when I'm cooling down after a run, just for fun.
  6. I DON'T WANT sarcasm and humor in my DCP. This forum is serious, guys, let's stop messing around and put our game faces/avatars on. I mean, how can we joke around when people around the world are starving and engaging in civil war? You people are sick.
  7. A lot of the emo stuff was out for Finals week. Point taken, though.
  8. Yeah, this show just has too much cheese to show to someone to whom you're trying to "legitimize" the activity. They really hit you over the head with all these "values", just too cheesy for this purpose. What I would show is (among others not mentioned so far) Cadets 2000, Cavaliers 2000, maybe BD 2006 too, and probably the show that I did (Crown 2006). I mean if they can't get into Cadets 2000, they don't have a soul and there's no hope.
  9. Unless the RCA Dome becomes a parking lot, I doubt they can fix it. Warmup to the RCA Dome is a loooooooooong walk.
  10. This makes the most sense to me, since the caption trophies are the average of all three nights anyway.
  11. I usually use photos from Flickr and stretch them out over my desktop. If you can find the ones that you can download in high res, even better!
  12. Not sure of the relevance, but... you will starve again, unless you learn the meaning of the law.
  13. Saved a lot of checks in high school from relatives during Christmas/birthday and churches for gigs, that's how I paid for 2006. 2007 I think I would have been able to make it if I had saved, but that wasn't the reason I didn't march. Now that I worked last summer instead of march, paying fees should be no problem. Travel expenses though....
  14. My impression is that it's humble enough that they don't exactly do it for the money.
  15. Euphoniums and not baritones? I'd like to see some of the freshmen I taught at camp hold a euph, they couldn't even hold their trombone!
  16. Cadets 2003's pretty good, but might be a little too comical for what you're looking for...
  17. JUST SAY NO TO TROMBONES IN DRUM CORPS! This is not marching band, dangit! - your friendly neighborhood trombonist :) On a serious note, we've all seen some serious damage done to bells on tour, now imagine that kind of damage to a slide! You can hammer out a bell, I dunno if you could fix a slide in 30 minutes before a regional...
  18. I know in 2006 we had to stop using a digital delay thing with our box to create an echo effect once we hit tour...
