  1. Here's my BAC nomenclature question: why was the corps known as "Boston" for several years? Were they trying to trick people who wanted to hear "More Than a Feeling"?
  2. This makes me think of the Simpsons episode where Bart and Homer are selling grease.
  3. For all the "why would fans go to Indy for four years?" people: If your favorite corps, let's say the Bluecoats, is in serious contention for the championship in 2011, would you not go because you've already been to Indianapolis enough by now? Or would you go to Finals because it's Finals? I'm not certain this was the best idea either--I'd have preferred a rotation in which Lucas Stadium was the host every fourth year--but you do have to admit there are some benefits to a centrally located city like Indianapolis. That's reasonable travel for a large number of people. As for the West Coast getting "screwed" by this, I seem to remember there was some talk about California getting a permanent rotation for Finals: something like San Diego, Pasadena, San Jose, and that the Tour Of Champions was supposed to test the waters, so to speak, for this. So it was very possible that everyone east of the Rockies could've been shut out of Finals indefinitely as well.
  4. Star should come back. The Blast! thing has run its course.
  5. But if one corps executed more aspects of the show better than the other, then they were the better corps.
  6. In all fairness, the guy is a New Yorker. Even Brooklyn is a C-List city to them.
  7. Cavaliers have the hardest drill, Phantom has the most demanding music.
  8. I think this would be fascinating. Jayzer, quit mollycoddling the greenshirts and realize that this could be a good thing.
  9. "driving a red convertible at 35 mph" is dead on.
  10. I like a lot of dynamic contrast in shows, personally. Whisper-soft sections, and then rip-my-face-off sections. As great as the Cavaliers sound, tone quality-wise, they never really get as loud as other corps seem to, which is understandable, since it would probably come at the expense of the intonation.
  11. That's just how dominant the Cavies are, y'know. Anything less than 1st is an off year for them.
  12. Bump the Scouts out of the 12. That'll teach 'em.
  13. Generally about a dollar now since you don't have an I-Pass, and you have to pull over and it takes forever. Thanks, Rod!
  14. Yeah, let's see the attendance when you didn't win the Series.
  15. Yeah, but they could easily do the retreat, couldn't they? They owe it to the fans to have a proper ending, not just "okay, that's the end. Bye"
  16. (insert White Sox attendance joke here)
  17. Great show. Props to everyone who helped it run smoothly, I had an excellent time in some excellent seats. Only complaint was that it was National Baby Night or something, and there were a lot of crying babies. One kept kicking my back. Small distraction, but it didn't ruin things.
  18. I think only the Ryan is a disaster right now, though this may have changed. If you absolutely have to, you can take 12 and bypass the expressways that way.
  19. Or you can just keep being overly pedantic. Y'know, either/or.
  20. How about they play more than two phrases and a boatload of filler?
