  1. I think its safe to say that we (Renegades) had some hair on our show tonite, we got a better one in us and we'll see what happens tomorrow night. (For the record, CorpsVets have a great show and performed VERY well tonite.........as for tomorrow nite, we'll see!)
  2. There are times when I think I might have been a bit too dumb when posting on here... ...then I read the things posted on the pages after my input, and I wonder...
  3. Diggin on the love, guys.......definitely diggin on the love. Just sayin...
  4. I am not surprised at all to see you say that, Jeff. I've never seen you be anything but 100% lockstep with whatever comes down from the judges. And that is your opinion, and I respect it. I've spoken MY opinion, and stand behind it. That's all I can do.
  5. I'm sorry, I know this will get me labeled a hater or a whiner, or BOTH, but I believe this is so, and so do many others: Corps competing DCA for their first time are NOT adjudicated fairly. There's "dues" to pay, remember??? Here's hoping that appearing in at least ONE show prior to Semis helps mitigate that somewhat.
  6. Not THAT surprised.....didn't see the show but if you take the fact that this is their FIRST DCA, then you factor in just how many miles away they are from the supposed DCA nucleus, and all the "hey, you gotta pay your dues" BS that floats around I'm just not that surprised that people are feeling that they got a little screwed this past weekend. But now they have one DCA show under their belt, and Semis will NOT be their "first read". We'll see what happens.
  7. No parent should have to outlive a child. I am deeply sorry for your loss, sir.
  8. Hey Kidsgrove! Welcome to the Colonies, enjoy your first DCA competition tonite and we'll see you in Rachacha! Thanks for coming out!
  9. Including DCA shows, plus the BD/SCV and Renegade Family Day full uniform performances, I believe we are sitting pretty at 10 performances.
  10. What, no reply from a Renegade yet? Guess I'll go back through the calendar and come back with an answer.........(sigh)
  11. Vigilantes got scores last weekend. How come the front post hasn't been updated with that information?
  12. I think we can all agree on one thing: When/if discussions commence on moving DCA to another host town (which will of COURSE happen when potential host cities "submit a bid" <$1 to Jeff Ream> ), it wouldn't hurt for this issue to be a LINE ITEM (NOT the main point, just a periphal issue that merits discussion) to see what if anything can be done by potential host cities to allow for this tradition that is cherished by many. Until then, if the situation in Rochester being what it is does not change, we are all going to just have to suck it up and comply. I for one DO NOT like it at all, but I won't be the horse's ### that ruins it for everyone. Having said that, if I found out FINALS NIGHT and not yesterday that this was an issue, there is a chance my big mouth might have gotten me or someone else in trouble and so I'm glad this information is being disseminated ahead of time. Also, if we flagrantly disregard Rochester's city policies for something like this and word gets out, THERE MAY NOT BE MANY MORE INTERESTED HOST CITIES. Keep in mind that city officials are NOT going to understand the traditional aspects of the parking lot runs and will just see a bunch of idiots wanting to make noise and keep people up. Remember, bad news spreads farther and faster than good news. I do take issue with those who think this isn't even an issue at all, and we should just suck it up. But I do agree we should not break the law.
  13. I have to say that this is the best, most solid argument against the lot concerts I've heard yet. Certainly no one wants to get shot.
  14. Really, Sam? You're going to compare this ridiculous notion you just pulled out of a hat with the tradition of corps doing one last run after finals? I swear to God Sam you have a knack for coming up with the dumbest ideas in human history.
  15. And YOU are basically telling many of US, who have traditionally been doing parking lot park and blows for years and consider it an indispensable tradition to #### off......classy......very elitist.
  16. Yeah. We wouldn't want to do anything to reverse the psychology of being secretive about matters that will become public knowledge anyway. I'm with Taters. NOT necessarily as in whether or not a parking lot gig would make/break a decision made by me to march that season, but we bring a BUTT load of money into the local economy and all we're asking here is a little more time for brief gigs in the lot 2 days out of 365. How about setting a time a little later than that, say, 11:30pm or 12am past which NO playing at all is allowed, and then THAT gets enforced? We all know that "pecking" continues on well into the night which is definitely more annoying than a few ensemble parking lot park and blows. Perhaps the issue is being addressed as we speak............but one thing for SURE is that this issue will not be resolved on DCP :)
  17. One mayor, however ridiculous, is only ONE MAN. THE CITY OF ROCHESTER has been nothing but welcoming and appreciative of our shows, and has been a most gracious host. Those of us who were marching in the Scranton days know the difference, yes? I've had GREAT fun every year I've marched DCA finals in Rochester (except MAYBE for the '06 hurricane, but even THAT was better than Scranton!) and am almost afraid for DCA to go anywhere else......the only other DCA venue I've been to personally was Syracuse in 2001, I was there with the Renegades minicorps and was a spectator for the rest of it but I thought Syracuse was OK. And I certainly would agree with above poster that attempting to personally contact this mayor and potentially bruise DCA's relationship with Rochester would be a grave mistake, but honestly guys Lee is a VERY brilliant man and I can't envision him doing anything remotely that stupid. (EDIT: Just read from a back post that Lee intends to do just that? WTF Lee? Am I reading this right?) Having said all of that, I have to agree that a few more minutes of music in the parking lots after the show IS NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK AFTER BRINGING ALL SORTS OF DOLLARS INTO THEIR COMMUNITY.
  18. Kiss my ###, pal. We produced some EXCELLENT shows during that time period, yes there was some shakiness in the drum line in the first couple of years after Tom Float left, but all in all there were EXCELLENT shows during that period. You know, I'm a bit embarrassed that I got a little hot just now. Clearly you are just being a troll, and therefore undeserving of my emotional involvement.
  19. Really? Is that so? Well, don't keep us in suspense.........why don't you tell us all what you heard?
  20. They've done chairs, they've done mirrors, what's next? Benches? Pogo sticks? Ice skates? Trap doors? Springboards? Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll serve them well!
