Greetings from ADA, OHIO. Well, that broadcast was not what we expected was it.? Let's just say I did not take the time to personally review the plans, the setup, and the technology in place for the presentation this Sunday evening. As my accountant friends tell me " Trust ... but verify" I did not follow that advice. Indeed, I arrived at the facility about 7:20 pm. Not a good idea. So now what ? Well, we are going to repeat the presentation When? This Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. The improved feed will be available to any member of the maroon and gold club. You can watch all three nights ... one night ... it's up to you. And if you missed it, NOT that you missed much, you can still join in. We will continue to run the campaign. In the interim, tomorrow we will work with the team to figure out the issues, to work around the interference from the windmills behind the stadium, and to insure the presentation looks and sounds at least at a level of reasonable quality. More tomorrow. We will be working with the Allentown team tomorrow to straighten out what we clearly less than should be expected. Happy Sunday evening. I am sorry to all who were disappointed. Hop

Gary ... does this mean things are not looking good for me and the PA Drum Corps Hall of Fame? Geez ... your comments are a bit silly. I was only at the meeting to bring up a few business practices that I would like DCA to look at down the road. As for the rules ... they are what they are. I love the change. and I would do more if I could. But ... we are where we are and DCA is where it is. Come on now ... give me a little break.

Hi - on a bus to Omaha for 12 hours ... Gang - what u hear and see on fan network is not the real deal .DCI does not pump cash into a full production ( nor should they) so what u get at home is good but ... Nit like being in the venue . And yes, mic placement can be a huge issue Speaking for the Cadets, we did not crank the electronics last night. My friends at home can stop texting me. :-). We did not march too well and we were tentative on the wet grass, but we did not crank the amp. Indeed, most thought the blend was excellent So - relax all . It's pretty cool stuff and we are pretty good .:-) Happy Sunday .

CADETS STOP REHEARSALS !!!! In an unprecedented move, the Cadets will stop all rehearsals at 5:30 pm today! That's right .... no more practicing. Instead, the corps will be sitting in lobbies and coffee houses across Johnstown logging on to Facebook and assisting in the final 6 hours of the CHASE COMMUNITY CHALLENGE. George Hopkins said " The Cadet kids have been a 10 for the last week but we need them tonight. We just fell to fourth but we are close to second and third and who knows what is going to happen. There are some non profits on the mix here that seem to have the ability to pull votes quickly. So, in the spirit of working until the end, and making a difference, and doing all you can, the members and the instructional team are logging on tonight" Please join with the Cadets. Hey gang .. i am sitting on Johnstown, Pa and I thought I would drop a note. To be honest ... we can use about 5000 of your votes to further our cause of assisting the high school music programs of the world. AND TO BE SURE, we are not just talking. If we can get hold of this $500K, we can put together a March-a-thon ( think walk for hunger etc) that will enable high schools to raise 10K, 20K, or 30K ... for their programs. We had this plan for MARCH 4 MUSIC two years ago, but, the costs of stadium, police, food, tents, PR, etc .. are enormous. We started the plan but we had to pull the plug. This time ... we can do what we ant to do, and the bands will keep every nickel Now, I know some bands will not do it, some will not do it well, but some ... will kick butt! They will have 100 kids with $500 worth of pledges ... and it will work!!! I have no doubt. So ... why not a truck for the Cadets ( which we need) or a staff bus so my guys stop complaining and we can keep up with the Blue Devils :-) Well ... we want to be bigger and better but YEA! is really about giving kids a great push along the road to magnificence. There may be some naysayers out there, and heaven knows I stick my foot in my mouth now and then ( Like a true Philly guy) ... but from the Cadets, to the Urban Arts Center and the US Scholastic Band Association ... we are and always will be about music and kids. SO ... give us a vote. Seriously. Vote for the other corps ... for sure !!! But ... can you give one to bands!!! sigh ... sigh ... sigh ... Gang ... there were about 1750 people there. Last year in Chambersburg was 1400. Our big shows in West Chester and Clifton can do 3000 or so ... Giants Stadium does 4000 -5000. if we had pulled 2000 I would have been thrilled .. so ... not to bad Hopkins

Dearest Friends .. the reason there are three corps performing twice, is that ONLY 3 corps were willing to come out on June 17th to perform. Surf ... not ready ... Raiders -- not ready; other corps; too far away or waiting to come out at a later date. So ... we had three corps willing to perform on the 18th in Allentown and on the 19th in Chesapeake. We asked the good fellows at DCI if this was possible and they were more than accommodating. The judges are willing to play along. SO .... Crown and the Cadets got together and said ... let's go twice, see if we can have a little fun and so something different to begin the season. We asked the Cavaliers to join in, we are paying them extra for being good guys ... and we are hoping to have some cool opening events, we are hoping to have some fun, and we are looking to launch the season. There you have it. The deep, dark and convoluted reason for bringing the 2nd, 3rd and 4th ranked corps in the world, to Allentown, PA and having them perform twice, on what looks to be a fabulous night!!!! Seems to me ... like a good time? I am amazed at how many folks make up negative spin when all that is here ... is what is here. An honest and sincere attempt to give folks three hours of entertainment. Crown, the Cadets and the Cavaliers are even playing two tunes together at the end of the night. Real tunes :-) !!! Fun tunes. And the kids say HI early on ...we get our sloppy shows on he field, and we begin the process of working harder than most anyone can imagine to achieve the highest possible levels of excellence. The kids are pumped!!! How about you !!!! :-)!!!!! really ... seriously ... smile!! it's going to be fun!!!!
