  1. so.....back to the topic.....im stoked for the season to start! Its sounds like a lot of corps have made improvements for the better.
  2. Yes! That show is very under rated. Their feet were A-mazing! One of my favs. Oh, and Star 93 too ;-)
  3. There was a topic a few months ago that was about what songs would be good to put on the field, my choice was Hide and Seek! Ever since I heard it for the first time I thought it could be adapted well. I'd love to see it make it into the show!
  4. I agree! This year will a positive one for the Cascades, no doubt! Best of luck to you all!
  5. my fav.... "One Knight Stand". I joke around with my bk friends about that one
  6. Im suprised that no one has stated how both mike and lewis left cascades for oc....Oh, and with the housing site, the director chooses where they are going to stay so its no suprise that mike wants to stay at hockinson.
  7. I think "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap has some great potental. I heard an a cappella arrangement that was amazing. With the right arrangement it could be pulled off.
  8. No one said he was the caption head. They actually dont have a specified caption head. Theyre working more as a team than being led by one head person.
  9. I am very good friends with the brass staff for this year. They started the season out as techs, but because of the resignation of the caption head, they were left to do the job. I am confident that they will do just fine. They are doing the best they can, and now it is time for the hornline to step up. Oh, and the staff member that was brought up that plays clarinet also marched 2 years on baritone at the corps so he knows what he's doing.
  10. I marched Blue Devils technique 2 summers with the Seattle Cascades. Taught by John Freeman, ex Blue Devil vis cation head. I can tell you that it is just as hard on the body as any other technique, and is almost identical to the Cadets. The only injury I had in 4 summers of corps was a minor ankle injury in 03. When I was with the Cadets last year, there were injurys, yes, but only one that kept a member off the field. To really understand what goes on in a summer tour you have to be there every day. Its easy to point out that someone got hurt and had to leave, but you often dont know the reason behind it. The worst thing you could do is keep a son or daughter from marching. The best times of my life were when I was on tour. The 4th of July is a good example. Who else gets to go to Seattle one year then Santa Monica the next then Boston the year after? Thats all I have for now. I think my screen name fits this topic pretty well =)
  11. the clip is the second part of the opener....the first half is 'Alone in the Crowd' from pollock, then it changes to an original by Jay
  12. Do you know what software lets you do that? thx
  13. Liquid was loosely based on equus. If you listen to the two then u'll see what i mean. The triplet figures come from equus, but most of the piece was original. I would guess that CR will try to stick more with the actual composition.
  14. No order: Cadets Phantom BD Cavies Bluecoats SCV X-men Cap Reg Scouts Crown BAC Blue Knights
  15. oh wow....haha...the band i tech for did a show called Inner Moods and it was kinda "out there" like the cadets show.
  16. We're playin the Swing, Swing, Swing from the 95 show if anyone didnt know that :) I heard we're leading santa down the parade but i dunno if thats a fact.
  17. Joan was always so nice to me, she was like having family on tour, which was nice since i didnt get to see my parents as much as years before. She always talked about how certain people were true cadets, but in reality she is the true cadet. She is always giving and never asks for anything in return. Love ya Joan, thanks for everything =)
  18. Thanks bro, Its always good to hear positive feed back on shows that you march. You guys had a tight show this past year, one of my favs on the cd. Haha, ya i marched next to that fool for a lot of the show, great guy =P
  19. I see Capital Regiment performing on saturday night. Great staff this year. Ill always wanna see Cascades up there too.
  20. I personally enjoy listening to all of the other tracks on the cd (chaos being my fav). We never get to hear any of those things we play so its nice to have quality recordings of them.
