  1. Good... See it worked retroactively. I had planned this all along. (Makes note to check dates on posts.) I hate getting caught up in zombie posts.
  2. I don't have any tats, nor do I want any at this time. That being said, you need to shut up and gtfo of this conversation. This isn't a "What do you think about tattoos?" thread it's a thread discussing drum corps tattoos. Your desire to make a post on this thread expressing your dislike for tattoos indicates to me that you have a desire to be self-important by being holier than thou with regards to your opinion on tattoos and people that have them. Your generalizations are based on your own opinion not on fact. I have my own opinions on this matter, most of which I am sure the people on this thread won't like, but as a matter of respect, I don't express them because I respect the fact that tattoo's aren't something that every one likes.
  3. No they're a professional military band. They travel and do performances just like any other military band. I think they may have even been to iraq to help out the US as well. It's been a while, but they can play, and can have fun like no other.
  4. (Said in a Quagmire like voice) "Now ladies lemme show you something about proper stick technique." Giggity giggity gig uh deeeeeeee....
  5. I got a chance to meet the members of this band when I was stationed in hawaii. We had a bbq and hung out with them. Thank you for bring back good memories.

  7. I whole heartedly agree with the above post. My biggest regret drum corps wise was not marching my age out.
  8. You're a very ignorant person, and your statements only prove it. BD only looks easy because they make it look easy. Their drill is the most movement ive seen out of that corps in a long long time. I'll agree Cadets have a very fine ensemble, however, my major point of contention is their narration. I'd be perfectly happy with them winning if they just cut all the narration. They won't. So go BD!
  9. With the same logic, it seems you'd be the same kind of person who would ask a room full of people to leave the room because you have to fart. I'm not going to cease my support of the activity because of one "bad egg", I will however not support them financially, or even morally.
  10. The fact of the matter is that I shouldn't have to pay thousands of dollars (which many corps fans do as part of their annual family vacations) to suffer through ten minutes of their honey-dipped, sacharin laced, gag inducing pile of feces they use for narration. It's not just the fact they use narration, it's the level of velveeta they've attained. There's no question that they have a superior quality corps. The quality of narration detracts from the performance.
  11. No body is booing the Cadets for them being too good.. They're VERY good, and they could possibly take the whole show. However, I think the biggest issue that is preventing them from getting more people on their side isn't just the narration, it's the cheese-factor of said narration, not just the fact they are using narration.
  12. Well the thing is, it is their show. With out the fans, there'd be no corps. No one boo'd the blue devils. Why? Because Blue Devils are doing a show while not every one may like it is devoid of controversial content. I'm hoping BD learned their lesson with respect to narration with the YOWZA YOWZA incident.
  13. I love everything about the Cadets show, BUT their narration. It's not even the actual narration itself. It's the actual words being said. I don't like the message of the Cadets text.
  14. If you were being sarcastic, it was hard to understand the intended sarcasm sorry.
  15. I boo'ed. I'll say it. I am fortunate I didn't have to spend thousands of dollars to come to this drum corps show, and be made uncomfortable by the the incessant emo monologue.
  16. Given the controversial nature of the Cadets' shows the last couple of years. One would think that the kids should expect some negativity from people given that they are pushing the limits of the fans comfortability with their show concepts. Tonight was just a culmination of the fan's exasperation with the attitude of George Hopkins, and the fans pleas for him to "tone it down". I personally feel the cadets have an insanely talented corps, however no matter how talented, the incessant honey coated gag-inducing disneyesque "everyone is a winner" message they're trying to ram down our throat is not going to make me listen, and quite possibly it will cause me to have an adverse reaction to the littlest faux pas done by the corps. If BD would have done the same as the Cadets did with regards to the hash marks, I doubt much would have be said. People are pretty much fed up with being uncomfortable with listening to the Cadets. I believe they should just shut up and play.
  17. It's ok to wear your jacket. I think what may have happened if you marched esperanza, was that the people weer venting their dissatisfaction with your corps' former leadership.
  18. Despite having whipped out the wrong baton from his pants, the drum major continues to conduct the show.
  19. Unfortunately the drum major "John Holmes" picked a bad day to go commando...
