  1. Maybe not, but Coco18 has to be the biggest Pacific Crest homer alive. Literally all of his posts are about Pacific Crest.
  2. Cool! Now some guy at the FBI can discover DCP!
  3. I was actually with her, in Studio 54, when she first said that. Then she punched me in the mouth. Congratulations Bluecoats!
  4. Yeah, but when Star did it, they would've been classified in this group of breaking-top-four-without-having-won too. We wouldn't have excluded them because of the future. We wouldn't have said, "Good job, but you'll win next year so you don't count." You've got to live in the now, man!
  5. Well, it would've been nice if they'd gotten his name right, but in general, yeah, it was all right. Better than the usual: "What do you get when you cross a [blank] with a [blank]? No, it's not a [blank] -- it's a drum corps!"
  6. I said "Yeah, I know"! What more do you want from me? A friggin' happy face smiley?
  7. No kidding. I saw a guy take a dump in the #1 side end zone. And that guy was... me. (A mirror was involved.) I literally cannot take anything seriously after Finals.
  8. 1990 was 25 years ago already? Man, time flies. I'm really impressed by the progress made my both Bluecoats and Blue Knights this season, and thought both their shows were fantastic. I look forward to the DVDs with greebert.
  9. This groundswell of support for the OP's rant is truly overwhelming.
  10. 11:30 pm CST = 5:30 am GMT. I don't know how I get suckered into staying up all night, every night....
  11. I have been, for about an hour. Get to it already, WGN! I can't wait to hear the inane questions!
  12. True, Pasadena really does have a lot to offer -- I marched in the Rose Parade for a few years, so I too have been there "many of times" -- but like everything else in SoCal, you need a car... which I imagine most out of town visitors won't have (or at least won't think they'll have). If you're flying in, you'd better rent a car or make some friends, because public transit in nearly all of SoCal is useless.
  13. There definitely are grants for music education if you are, as you say, "making better musicians" -- which is what you'd be doing, right? You might even want to hit up the VH1 Save The Music program. That one came up a lot at Alliance, but I don't think it was ever followed up on something up on which was ever followed.
  14. How are you going to balance those responsibilities with your normal duties as Ruler Of The Fantasy Planet Where Any Of That Will Happen?
  15. Everyone ages. Not everyone ages out. For example, I didn't march my last two years (hey, I had my bad reasons). I didn't age out. I just got older.
  16. Actually, it was pretty great. Magic, if you'll recall, did a "Pirates" show that year, which was a lot of fun, but then the Marines came out and it was on. Their baritones took no prisoners.
  17. Ha ha! Hey! Remember when the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps played music from "Pirates" four years ago? I bet they stole that from marching band! Ha! Hey! Ha ha! lol omgasdoiasdglakj!!!11!!1!
  18. Not only is it bench seating sans backrests, and not only do the stands curve away from the field, but each seat is equipped with spikes that randomly extend and retract. Also, there is poison on the spikes. I can't take anything seriously in the off season.
  19. I in no way endorse '05 BD. However, but, that being said©, if they'd done it that way (i.e., in correct chronological order), they'd end the show with only a few performers. It would wind down and get less and less exciting as the corps got more "tired." The (only) rationale behind doing it in reverse was so they could start slow and build as the show went along. Perfectly reasonable, IMO. I just didn't go for it.
  20. If it's any consolation, nearly any seat in the house will suck. I'm happy Finals will be in SoCal next year, but... yeesh.
  21. The slotting we thought was going on all season wasn't the real slotting. The judges were saving that for Finals.
  22. Electric Boogaloo? No amps! (Yeah, I know.)
  23. Totally. Get the business end of things sorted out first. Before it's anything else, a drum corps is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
