  1. I remember that! We (Blue Stars) had just gotten off the field about 10-15 minutes prior to the incident. It's a darn shame that people can't respect each other and deal with issues in a mature fashion.
  2. Anyone a drummer here that would be able to shed some light on the recaps for me? Just wondering if the Colts Drum Line should be where they are score wise. I know they have had the same judge for the past 2 shows and just wanted another opinion.
  3. I am wondering from a percussionist's viewpoint, is this how the recap should have played out?? I am asking as a guard member not really knowing what to look for in a good drumline. Thanks Great Job Blue Stars!! Colts - Don't give up!! You got it!
  4. I was born in Austin and lived in Carrollton - does that count? LOL
  5. My vote would be for Blue Stars. Their guard has some amazing work (clean too! ) which looks like it could be very dangerous to any horn/drumline member in the wrong spot. :)
  6. I agree! Should be an interesting show looking at the recaps from Kalamazoo. Get It Red Team and Blue Stars!
  7. DCI had to cut the judging panel due to costs. They are just trying to make sure that this organization is around for all of the future performers, educators, and fans. Being a guard person myself I am disappointed that the guard caption is not included - It took us long enough just to get on the panel. Yeah this is not the ideal situation (and the choice of the captions is crazy) but it won't last too long and it is helping solidify DCI's future. Well that is my two cents - Take what you will. :)
  8. This has happened before - Colts 2002 (not sure where, USA). We were practicing on a soccer field and a man was caught looking out his window with binoculars. Then he proceeded to walk out of his house and started taking pictures. Once the guard staff told him that he had to leave he returned to his window with his binoculars. It was definitely creepy.
  9. Some of the ones that I have heard are definelty R rated so I shall laugh about them to myself! Couple of my "family show" favorites : Stop performing to the ant hills! In August (the week of finals) fter teching the crap out of 36 counts of guard work a member of the guard raised her hand and said "I have a question" The instructors response was : I have broken each count down to the point that you should know where your pinky fingers should be....How the f*** do you have a question. FIO - Figure it out Una mas! <- Ive said it so much my girls gave me that as a nickname. I'd rather watch paint dry than watch you spinning right now! You look like Erykah Badu with that flag wrapped around your head. You must have been doing the show from 2000 because the good Lord knows that I didn't write that! We're not _______. We don't drop!
  10. Hello all you drum corps fans! I am in a bit of a predicament here. Three of my friends bailed last minute on the roadtrip to Normal and I have 3 tickets to sell. I am selling them at a discount for $15.00. They are in the B section. Don't wait! Send me a message if you are interested!
  11. These would have to be the color guard shows that I would have loved to march. Cavies 95 and 2000 (well obviosly I never would have had the chance - grrr for all male) Phantom 2002 SCV 2004 Crown 2005
  12. In my experience the corps have to pay for the uniforms which then is passed on to the members through annual dues. In terms of color guard: Flags and uniforms are in the same boat in terms of this topic. Either corps staff designs flags or a third party designs for them and then volunteers (mom's, alums, staff, members) sew the flags. With other color guard equipment, it is usually bought from a company (no discount that I am aware of). Any other unusual colorguard equipment used in a show is usually made by the wonderful volunteers also. Hope this helps in the situation. THank you!
