Mmm... just look at the standings now as compared to the first scores back in June. That's one tasty progression. -

The 1-7 race should be a tad tighter since SCV was knocked with a penalty tonight. I heard some talk of a potential Crown penalty, but I'll have to check recaps when they put that up. -
Public transportation?!?
Backstrom replied to cwillpayne's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
The bus stops at that time anyway, so your best bet is to hitch a ride or walk to the Memorial Park Station. It's probably a half an hour walk. If one must resort to that, definitely walk with some buddies. -

Public transportation?!?

Yeah, so if you're up to it, after finals, you'd have to walk about 2 miles to the Memorial Park Station. But from there, you're home-free! -

Someone suggested 267, which runs from Pasadena city college to about a mile from the Rose Bowl site. Only problem is it stops running before performances are over. -
2007 DCI World Championships (tourism)
Backstrom replied to PeeWee's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I'm actually gonna stretch my legs and do a bit of biking to and fro finals. Does anyone know if its a downhill or uphill ride from say Old Town Pasadena? -
CROSSMEN NEED HOUSING SITE FOR FINALS WEEK!
Backstrom replied to shaners's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Bump. This really pisses me off. Where were they originally housed at? -
Ooh, thanks for the pictures. It's good to see Rica in action.

I can't believe El Paso recaps still aren't up yet.

Drum corps audio AS IT SHOULD BE....

So Mickey and Minnie's ears do work! -
*Whimpers* Does that theory ever prove false?

2007 DCI World Championships (tourism)
Backstrom replied to PeeWee's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Nah, I'm roughing it! See how tough my bones really are. I figure that the Metrorail is sufficient enough to take me between Pasadena and Downtown. But for my own sake, any SoCal residents want to tell me otherwise? -

If it has not yet been posted, Phantom has closed its rehearsals for finals week with the exception of Wednesday, when it will hold an open dress rehearsal for family and friends. -

Seven corps have already broken 90 and still more than a week to go! Hopefully that will turn into nine by end of Saturday's night. Seventeen corps have broken 80, and that may turn into 21! Oh my! -
Ye, Academy still has some tight-knit friends in D2 they want to chill with. Anyway, I am fairly pleased at the scores. Well done to the Cascades, especially, now that they're in, I believe 16th place.

Pasadena-who's going?
Backstrom replied to Freelancer92's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
It is earlier this year. There was a topic on it a little while ago. It has reasons to do with noise ordinances and such. -
How will you react if The Cadets win?
Backstrom replied to drumcat's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
You should have made 'indifferent' as an option for the second question. If Cadets didn't win, I wouldn't be angry nor overjoyed. It happens and there are plenty of other corps that are capable of winning as well. But I will cheer loudly for them. -
Drums Along The Rockies - Albuquerque
Backstrom replied to BigSnareline's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Reports of a lot of wind from down there. Detrimental to the corps? -
Ah... the one show that we know won't be rained out.

I myself don't have the most coveted seats. I'll be flying in the 9th and plan to watch Semis and Finals. The tickets for both days both seem to have a tradeoff. Semis night, I'll be sitting way up there and getting a decent visual view, but I won't be blasted in the face. Finals night is the exact opposite. Anyway, I've been looking at the tourism thread but still can't decide what to do on the 9th. Can anyone suggest anything that's close to Pasadena or easily accessible by Metrorail? -
Having some friends in the corps myself, I would naturally desire for them to make semis. But they're neck-to-neck with PC and Southwind right now. Troopers are sneaking up and Mandarins might pull some crazy stunt move. All I can say is I hope for the best for them!

Minneosta...Alaska...North Dakota...Kentucky... it doesn't matter where it happened. These types of tragic news briefs don't need to be related to drum corps for us to sympathize with others.
