May daughter went to a DCA corps this year after having marched Open Class in DCI for 4 seasons. She really likes working with DCA as she gets to march, field and travel, but also gets to "have a summer". She really likes the weekend only thing and the fact that it goes for the entire summer - not ending the second week of August. Enjoy wherever you march, just march!!!!!

Dutch Boy (Open Class) guard used Air Blades this summer. My daughter was a member of the guard and really enjoyed using the Air Blade - I think you'll see a lot of that this season - winter and summer.

Legacy Winterguard of Hamilton, Ontario will be starting auditions this coming Sunday August 17th from noon to 3:00pm at the Hamilton East Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club, Hamilton, Ontario. As a Board Member, Parent, and Chaperone, I am quite sad about the turn of events for HYPE for 2008. We have tried everything to obtain the brass membership that is required to have a competitive corps, with no avail. We will continue our recruitment strategies for the 2009 season. We will host the Yamaha Canada Cup on Sunday July 27th at 2pm at Ron V. Joyce Stadium at McMaster University. Please come out and support the show as well as HYPE. Thank you for your concern. The new Ivor Wynne Centre at McMaster University, home of the McMaster Marauders, is just being completed and will be an amazing place to hold an Open Class DCI Competition.
