  1. EDIT: Title was cut off. Original title: It's just about midseason. What are the best and favorite shows of 2015 (so far) and why? By best, I mean the shows you think have a chance at winning it all. By favorite, I mean which shows do love regardless of placement? Here's mine (note: I haven't seen everything yet): Best: Anyone in the Top 5 can win it all. The bottom two (SCV/Crown) probably have their work cut out for them though. Favorites: SCV - I'm a homer. Awesome music for the most part, great drill. BD - I love their selection of music from Into the Woods BK - Loved the show they put on at Stanford---haven't heard their closer yet which will make it even better CC - Music is pretty good, they play extremely well, and have great visuals.
  2. Did you check your messages/inbox? You know... so you can perhaps... review/relive some shows. EDIT: But yeah, it seems like there is a crapload of major changes in the second half, which sort of explains why their score has seemed relatively stagnant. With drill like theirs, it's incredibly hard to clean.
  3. Wow that new ending set is delicious...so dizzying.
  4. If you haven't already, message me to add you to the mailing list for goodies from the MO TOC show! I will send when they are ready.
  5. PM ME to be on the mailing list for goodies from tonight! I'll send them out when ready!
  6. Geez that was stupid of me. I finally bit the bullet and got DCILive but nooope, it's raining!
  7. Ugh... why does it always seem like DCI Minnesota is going to be rained out... I get it that it rains in the summer a lot there but still. Someone please tell me if they will be moving the event to the new US Bank Stadium when it opens next year even though it looks like it's going to be one big echo-y mess?
  8. Number 10: You'll never be alone. Oops, wrong corps.
  9. I think what you said... but if I am to understand what you are saying... it sounds like they are still missing the "resolution chord" cuz I was waiting for it to progress just one more step further. I hope they do it and if they do, I can't wait to hear it!
  10. Looks like they "hold the note/chord" at the end of the ballad for much longer than they did at Stanford. Sorry, I don't know what it's called when they play a chord really really long. Sounds awesome!!!
  11. Thank you! Keep up the good work yourself! You should try your hand at rock climbing--it's the only physical activity I continuously enjoy doing on a regular basis. What have you been doing for weight loss aside from diet? Also, how much has your blood work improved since you lost? Oh and when did you start? Sorry for all the Qs!
  12. Geez this new website is incredibly stupid. Trying to look up scores from after 6/29 and before 7/2... nope not even listed.
  13. SCV breaking 80 first for the first time in as long as I can remember! WOOOO https://instagram.com/p/4njw-tKPII/ (not mine)
  14. Don't worry. I do it all the time so you're not alone. As a great individual once said, "Don't worry. I do it all the time so you're not alone." ~NeutralNovice
  15. Haven't read the other comments but I'm sure I'm going to say what others have said... I don't know how but ESPN and DCI has managed to make their sites more cumbersome to navigate than before. I'm not just talking about change being difficult to deal with but, at least with DCI, the previous format was so much better. In particular with the schedule, all you had to do was click on an event and on the right frame you would get the event at a glance. It made it a lot easier to see who would face whom (correct grammar?) for the first time to get a feel of the "spread" since the subjective scores are more unreliable to gauge in separate shows.
  16. Was at the show last night. Front and center but at the bottom. I was at front and center at the top at Stanford. I thought SCVC should have scored better than BDB but that's just me. Mandarins are getting really good! I see the pit now has their uni as opposed to generic black shirt/pant/short. The guard and hybrid guard/horns still also still don't have their uni--too bad as I was really interested how they were going to blend in with the corps. Their closer was a standstill. If Open and World classes are judged on the same sheet now, I feel like they should have scored a bit higher than the spread that occurred between them and the Open Class corps. Pacific Crest was ok. I like their uniforms but the music wasn't terribly appealing to me; however, they are pretty good. Phantom Regiment was fun to watch and listen to, particularly the closer. I was actually a bit surprised at their volume level as it was a bit softer than the corps around them--I'm thinking like SCV's Ballet for Martha. Their show definitely kept to the theme as it felt very Parisian. The guard unis were just fab. Did I mention I love the closer? Blue Knights are performing one of my favorite songs. They were loud, powerful, graceful and definitely deserved their placement. It sounds like they are still missing their closer which is too bad because I would have loved to see and hear that live as this is my last live show of the season. I imagine they are going to do a reprisal of Because by the Beatles. SCV compared to everyone else was just performing on a completely different level. Loudest and most rich sound by far--something that I haven't been able to say in the last several years. The past few years have been really good but this year just feels great! The opening movement just screams everything that's good about drum corps. Someone mentioned that the "angry" SCV of 1999 is back and it definitely seems so.
  17. Get a spork instead. Scoop up all you want and pierce an extra piece.
  18. I can't stop watching this show, particularly the opening sequence and hit. WOW. ::Hopes and wishes for at least a medal this year!::
  19. Man their show tonight at Stanford was so much fun to watch and listen to. I was impressed.
  20. BD is awesome as per usual though this year it seems like SCV, in my opinion, did better than BD. That doesn't happen often! PM me for SCV/BD DCI West Goodies... if you catch my drift.
  21. Me, and everyone else at the show it seemed, were VERY impressed with what SCV has to offer this year. I'm a little biased as I love SCV in general but wow are they powerful. PM me for SCV/BD DCI West Goodies... if you catch my drift.
  22. If anyone wants to see BD/SCV in action (recorded from iPhone), send me a PM and I will send you the unlisted links when uploads are complete!
