  1. So uhh... I just saw a video of their full show and uhhh.... wow they are hauling @$$...waaaay more than in recent years it seems. What a great and entertaining show! EDIT: and JUST like that, it's gone! but sweet jeebus that was an awesome show. can't wait to see it live @ Stanford!
  2. There's a video floating around of some of their stuff, but it was all the way back at their annual dinner. I'm guessing that it sounds completely different now, esp. since there wasn't any percussion playing.
  3. That's definitely an example of something looking much better on paper than on real life. I remember being impressed with the concept drawing but disappointed later on.
  4. I don't think they were new per se.... but they had a lot of additions to the old uni--and I think black pants instead of green, can't really tell.
  5. Good to hear! I'm so looking forward to Stanford this year to see this show!
  6. That's interesting! Though doesn't Scheherezade sort of repeat the same theme over and over though? Like a sort of new story being told a thousand times? :-)
  7. Yet another dream show for me by SCV! Missed out on POTO and 2004 live so now all they have to do is POTO and that part of my bucket list will be complete! I wonder if they are going to design the corps proper uniforms around the Scheherezade theme like they did with Les MIz last year.
  8. I hope SCV does a show based on the 1939 Wizard of Oz film.
  9. They have to be uploaded to a host like Photobucket or Flickr. The easiest to use right now for me is imgur but I just use that to upload random photos I want to link up and don't use it for personal pictures. After you upload your photo, when you reply or create a new thread, in the formatting row, where Bold, Italic, Underline is, to the right of it you will see a smiley, a chain, and what looks to be an image. Copy the link of the photo you want to post, click that tiny image on the post editor, past the link, press OK, and submit your post!
  10. Oh okay, thanks everyone for your input. I always thought that perhaps the winner took a larger share of the ticket sales or something like they do in baseball. Like 20% of ticket sales would go towards the corps with the winner getting 10% of that block or whatever.
  11. Bragging rights, medals, and trophies aside, what are the benefits of winning? Does the winner, like the World Series Winner, get a larger share from the ticket sales? After all these years watching, I never really knew. Thanks!
  12. Thanks for the review! Please take a quick video if you can tomorrow! I'd love to see a sample!
  13. Just saw this video of the corps SINGING "Send in the Clowns." Oh Em Gee. Audio is not too great but wow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IAMkvFNZ_A
  14. AGreed Kamarag. In fact, part of me wants to email them and just ask if I can get access to the Finals VOD and they can keep the rebate--that way, they don't lose any money since I have no intention of purchasing the DVD until they reduce the price in a couple years or so.
  15. Oh I actually meant the eventual World Champion.
  16. Wow.. how about this detail since the inception of the Stanford show: Every single show at Stanford since its beginning has hosted the eventual champion. 2007: Blue Devils 2008: Phantom Regiment 2009: Blue Devils 2010: Blue Devils 2011: The Cadets 2012: Blue Devils 2013: Carolina Crown How about that?!? Coincidence only I'm sure but at the very least, it means that your corps should come to Stanford to perform! That's 7 years in a row right there! :-)
  17. Music from the (reimagined) Battlestar Galactica series. Particularly: Prelude to War Passacaglia Waywawrd Solider And more like All Along the Watchtower and others
  18. Can you please explain to me what you mean by "beef up?" I'm not disagreeing with you or anything, just want to learn more about how drum corps work since I still have a lot to learn despite following for several years; there's a lot that I still have to learn. Anyway, to what you said about SCV needing to clean faster, is that possible with their marching technique and drill instruction? I've read others before discussing the difference between "dot" and "dressing the form" with the former being the more difficult to clean. Now of course, SCV throughout the course of the season really cleaned up their visual; however it just never really seemed as clean as the corps above them and a couple below them yet their visual scored really high. Is there something about their style of drill/technique that just inherently looks "dirty?"
