RE: The Uniforms... Oh... oh dear. I s'pose it's now out with the old SCV. I'm ready for this new era and look forward to change, but I will always care deeply for what they have done in the past. Just noticed, for those who like Stargate, for whatever reason, their uniforms just scream nuveau Jaffa, to me.

I am always thinking of questions that don't necessarily need their own unique thread so I figured I can start a thread where we can ask general/random questions about drum corps. Format should be: If you have an answer to a question, just quote it in your reply and answer! And perhaps to make questions stand out more, format your question so it's in a larger and bolder font. My randomly thought up question just now: "Contra players: does your right arm end up being much larger compared to your left arm by the end of the tour season?"

I am no longer able to go and have only offloaded 3 of the 4 tickets. Ticket is in Section 214 Row DD Seat 8, so pretty much all the way up without being in the luxury boxes. I would like to sell at face value but also don't want it to go to waste so if finances are a bit tough for you, I don't mind letting it go at a lower price or even gratis! Because of the lateness of this post, I will probably not be able to mail it to you on time. My friend is going and will have the ticket and can either: leave ticket at box office or you can meet up with my friend. The only problem is that they are not planning to arrive until during or after the intermission, which is scheduled to begin at 7pm.

I have a feeling that some of the members were defaulted into holding up the "Thank You" sign as they were dressed in the SCVC uniforms like the rest of the drumline. I imagine a few of them were also the pit during Bandfest. And I'm going to guess the Rose Parade doesn't have much to do with the Rose Bowl show in the summer.

Well it looks like they painted the tree completely white (it was gray/silver before). My guess (as many others) is that they are going to wrap the tree in LED lights--perhaps it will change color throughout the seasons. They also changed the ending before the quiet ending again. I was at the theater. They sounded excellent and looked great but as much as it pains me to say this---their execution just isn't at the level of the Top 3, particularly visual. Question: How do they learn their drill? I think I remember seeing something about them being on the Dot system?

I guess BD did something very close to this!!

Here's an idea with the tree! At first I thought that it would have some sort of mechanical effect where holes drilled into the tree will sprout leaves but that's probably too expensive and complicated. At the end, I thinkg the are going to light the tree with LEDs, Hopefully they are really bright and strong so it really stands out. Or Perhaps they can do even more with the LEDs and make them color changing as the show progresses from springtime colors for spring, a golden glow for summer, orange and red for fall, then blue and white for winter.

Hmm let's see. Some of this stuff is probably painfully obvious but I figure, let's talk about it here! Preshow: Best music to wake up and rise to. Spring is like an awakening, if you will. First movement: During the buildup, the swirl may represent the Spring Wind, which carries the pollen to well... pollinate and bloom beautiful plants. First movemnet: before the big hit, the formation looks like a rose and the corps collapses and runs. The opening hit represents a beautiful bloom of a flower. So much great tension here. Anyone else want to take on the other seasons?

I wonder if any of the MMs made an Ace Ventura rhino birth joke with slit in the large square props yet... I have a feeling that these guys are a bit too young for that movie though.

Uh oh... It seems like it's that time of the year when SCV seems to stagnate in terms of score :-(. Not sure about other corps but I think SCV is scoring below what they scored this time last year. C'mon SCV! Make the move! Show DCI that shows like this--modern yet minimalist--can still do well.

I used Replay Screen Recorder when I had all those "goodies" last year. :-) Good to know that Windows has something built in!
