When I was in college, on of our DM's was in the colorguard for Cadets that year. He loved to tell that story (or any story really as he liked the sound of his own voice LOL). Urban legend or no? He claimed it was very early in the season. Unsure if he had a copy of the tape, most of my college years were, um, difficult to recall.
My high school band was exceptionally bad, all 40 of us. We played some nonsensical show, like the theme to the Jetson's followed by a patriotic tune, then into a Metallica song (I swear to god I am not making this up). After each song, we did like 16 counts of silence (you know, where the parents applaude) to transition into the next nonsense. At the last 16 transition, the judge said, right at the end of the silence, "That's the best sound you've made all night".
