  1. No, but you must have obviously slept through the other parts of the show.
  2. I believe Cadets didn't win because they didn't execute their show as well as BD executed theirs. Clearly the better show won on finals night. I watched each show all three nights and as much as I wanted Cadets to win, it was clear to me that BD would be the corps to take it. Now can we stop with the excuses and give BD credit for their spectacular execution of their show already? Geez!!
  3. If this were the case, then corps like The Cadets would never win.
  4. Could it be that the better performing corps won? How about that?
  5. And it still gives me goosebumps when I listen to the crowd. They really did it for me. B)
  6. I think some of those people did actually march. Anywho, I definitely have to say that Cadets was by far my favorite. Jay Bocook is just a ####### genious with his writing. Those chords, the mello runs, the baritone entrances, MAN!!!! It's just hornline heaven in my opinion.
  7. I mean, this IS dcp, so I pretty much expect that...
  8. Well I agree that our 2000 show was not the most entertaining show ever. In fact, I don't know how anyone can say that. I have not seen a lot of shows from the 80s or early 90s, but I can find a lot more shows that were more entertaining than that show. BUT I SURE DID HAVE A LOT OF FUN MARCHING IT!!!! ^0^ ^0^
  9. Man, this one is a toss up. I was a horn player, but I loved EVERY section of the drum corps. I guess it would have to be the drumline though.
  10. I don't really understand this argument of someone not being able to "hum" music. My opinion, all music is hummable (is that a word?), it's just a matter of listening skills. If you don't go into a show with an open mind and listen to the music, then sure you may not be able to hum it at all. Now there are some corps who play a lot of abstract music, but I can still hum it. I am sure I am not the only one. By the way, this is just my opinion so don't beat me up too much. :sshh:
  11. Cadets: Opening hit and the baritone entrances at the end of the opener (and of course, the trumpets double-tonguing). The lawnmower in the middle of the closer (at least that's what the drill staff called it..) The end of the show from the fast moving company front BD: The Guard and their scary-looking wings. The Drumline weaving through the hornline. Cavies: Everything after "pressure." Phantom: The end of the show. SCV: Can't really remember parts of their show. Crown: Long-a*s chord at the beginning of the show. Guard!! Bluecoats: Guard!!
  12. EXACTLY!!! Look, everyone wants their corps in the top 12, but the fact is, unless they are the caliber of the top 12, they will not make it. And if corps like Cadets, Cavies or BD are not in the top 12, I honestly don't see a lot of people following drum corps anymore. Usually lots of people watch the finals show live and not quarters or semis...judging from what I have seen when I marched.
  13. Come to think of it, I don't remember the run you are talking about.
  14. This is like saying you can't use a computer anymore because MS-DOS is no longer the primary operating system. Things evolve. If you can't adapt, you'll be left in the dust. No disrespect, just saying....
  15. But that's only where you were sitting..just like where I was sitting, the crowd was TOTALLY responsive. Either way, the show was still good, narration or not.
  16. The guy says he wasn't bashing them. The guy says it was a joke. The guy says we misunderstood his humor.
  17. Well you were the first person on this thread so far to bash them. So I'll keep the accuse-o-meter where it is. By the way, has anyone ever had that new oreo cookie pizza? It's disgusting!
  18. And we can do without turning into a Cadets-bashing thread.... ...and I HATE California pizza kitchen. I'd rather have the neighborhood mom-and-pop pizza shop pizza back in New York and New Jersey.
