Cadets 2006 :) The addition of voice is stunning! Doesn't sound like every other ballad I've heard for the past 30 years, like a breath of fresh air, cool stuff!

There are many uneducated comments being made about the Cadets. I saw the Cadets last night. I will admit I was a bit skeptical about the Cadets because of some of the negative reviews I've been reading. Let me tell you this corps is on fire! They were the only corps last evening that received an enthustiastic standing ovation. This is one of the most well conceived and entertaining shows I've seen in years! Their drumline is just off the charts. They have some performance issues at this point (I guess that is why Phantom is outscoring them?????), but they have so much more demand and variety of sound than Phantom. Phantom plays very well but is very bland and un-interesting. Don't believe the negative hype going arround about the Cadets, it is pure nonsense, this corps is really good and so is the show. Good luck to the Bluecoats (I know you are a big fan from you posts), I hear they have something special also! How about Cadets and Bluecoats 1 and 2 this year, sounds pretty cool!

No wonder this forum is going down hill with statements like that!

If you call winning their first 2 shows tanking! Yes, I will proudly admit I'm a Cadets fan, or what is otherwise known as a borg by some. This early season stuff is so funny and predictable every year. All this frenzy because the Cadets have the nerve to try some new and different ideas. Thank god DCI has educated and open-minded judges deciding placements. Could you imagine if the people writing some of these show reviews recently were judging; scary thought! As some continue to take shots at the Cadets, they continue to quitely go about their business. This corps is a powerful machine and I would bet they are the corps the Cavaliers and Blue Devils are looking over their shoulder at. Go Cadets!!!!!!

I have no idea what their score will be, however, I saw them this past saturday and they are scary good for this early! :)

Just returned from spending the day at Cadets rehearsal and thought I would share my observations with those that would be interested. This corps is going to be freaking amazing! I know, some will accuse me of being bias, some will say several corps are predicting greatness this season, but I'm telling you, there is something really special brewing with the Cadets. Obviously some will not care for the 2006 Cadets just because they are the Cadets, but I think many will be suprised how cool their show is this year! As you stand and watch this corps, one can't help but realize there are some great minds at work here! Bring on the season, the Cadets should do very well! :)

I'm a big Cadets fan and the Cavaliers are the corps I think has the best chance to top the Cadets this year. Bye the way, the Cavaliers are my second favorite corps.

I don't want to speculate, but I will bet Cadets will be in the hunt, they have something real special again this year! :)

I would like an honest answer, how did I bash the Crossmen? Have you heard the cd from their performance Sunday evening? They have some real issues with quality of sound that could hurt them this season. I have no axe to grind with the Crossmen, just stating facts. I do wish them well, and I'm sure they will work very hard and improve.

I was at the concert and I don't know who botched the Star-Spangled Banner, nor do I care, humans make mistakes! Did you get a copy of the cd after the show? I got a copy and listened to it on my ride home sunday evening. Crossmen had alot of bad sounds coming from their ensemble. Not a very good brass sound (not a mature, refined sound), loud yes, quality of sound very weak. I don't mean to bash the Crossmen, I think they show more potential than last year, however, they have much work to do before they can even think about making top 12. As far as the Cadets go, WOW! Cadets sounded like a championship caliber corps, Crossmen sounded like a corps that hopes to make the top 12. Good luck to both corps!

I attended Memorial Brass last evening and I would be glad to share my honest views; Crossmen: music is an upgrade over last year, quality of sound is really lacking at this point, lots of overplaying from all sections, very agressive corps, in your face drum corps for sure, not my cup of tea, with lots of work could crack top 12, good luck! Cadets: this corps really means business, very tight ensemble for this early, brass line putting out more sound than I have heard from them in years, percussion is big and really good, music is complex, sophisticated and entertaining, the ballad with the vocal was like a breath of fresh air, great stuff from this corps, if they cam march at the same level they play they will be tough to beat this season, good luck!

Hey Jeff, "whatever" is my way of saying there's no point in defending my position. You will twist my words to make me the bad guy and you the good guy , but that's ok, your posting reputation on RAMD is well known. Not that I owe you an explanation, I comment on the Cadets because they are the only DCI corps I get to see on a regular basis. Have you noticed yet that you and your RAMD buddies are the only ones participating in this silly discussion? the decent, civil minded people on DCP are staying away from this thread.

No it's not very simple, Jeff likes to take shots at me cause he knows I'm a Cadet fan. But really, I don't care to take part in this meaningless discussion. Lets just say Jeff is right and I'm wrong, fair enough?
