This is a flawed argument because Synths, while not to everyone's taste, does not completely change the activity. A band that moves around on a field is a marching band. A band that stands still and plays a concert is a marching band. While a marching band/corps, with or without synths, is still a marching ensemble. As for the second statement, no...no it isn't. It's honest. The music on the field may not be to some people's taste, but it doesn't make it not music. An apple with it's skin removed is still an apple. It may not be to your taste, but it's still an apple. And arguing that it isn't makes that particular "opinion" absolutely asinine.

I find taking the time to compose a well written argument is equally as ignored as most everyone on here will just stick to their predetermined conclusions. This cuts to the point and is my honest opinion. Sorry it's not artful enough for your taste. But way to attack the method and not the actual content.

No "concert" piece. I came to see drum corps. If I wanted to go watch a concert band/orchestra I would go to the concert hall. Besides, everyone who says that DCI is lacking music is clueless. I rarely generalize that largely, but in this case it's true. So I'll say it again: Anyone who says DCI lacking music is 100% clueless and there is no point arguing with that kind of stupidity.

How is that what I do. I love the activity. I plan on going to more shows this year then any other non-touring year. So while I'm here I might as well shoot fish in a barrel. Because that's what it is. I say one thing and sooo many people get upset. And here's the kicker: I don't give a single Forte what you think is a "valid opinion." No one cares about opinions. I used to come on here and lay out sound, logical arguments just to have a gang of "doom sayers" quip back with just plain ######## replies. You know the ones. They make absolutely zero sense. But hey, it's an opinion, right? So I just sit back and laugh...that and invest in companies that make blood pressure medicine. You'll see me post to congratulate or comment on a show or program selection. But when it comes to the same ol same ol "big arguments" I stopped caring a looooong time ago.

I also don't get on forums specifically about the thing I don't like and have hundreds or even thousands of posts ranting about how much I dislike it. Not saying this is you, but there are a few who fit this description.
