Best Digital Still Camera for a DCI show
luvs me sum mello! replied to Tom Brace's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Canon Rebel DSLR. As the name implies it's just a digital version of an SLR cam. The quality is great and it will last you years and years if properly cared for. Be prepared to spend a few hundred on basic setup plus a lens or two. Like a telephoto and a wide angle. Or, for a couple hundred bucks you can get a decent point and shoot. Canon Power Shot series are just fine. Best of luck. -

Because it's pioneer. They could use any kind of help to get out of perpetual last place. -

Dot marching vs. being in the form
luvs me sum mello! replied to Howdy's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
You are blind. Sorry. I feel really bad for the band you "judge" because you continue to show how very little you know about the modern activity. Transitions are better and more difficult then ever. Anyone can clean, lets say, a 16 count move at an 8 to 5 step size with the met at 160 over the course of an entire summer. -

Fixed. Secondly: How else does a vs. match work? You compliment both sides? lol

2010 is cleaner and more complex then anything you could have dreamed of marching in 1980. I see band that can only rehearse 8 hour a week march cleaner, more complicated drill then MANY 1980's corps. Guess at 20 years the rose tint is getting pretty dark, eh?

When woodwinds are added....

It's more about what's feasible. Having to pay so much more money for bus loads of clarinets, saxes and flutes? I don't think so. It just doesn't make much sense, to me. Seems woodwinds would be best used as color instruments from the pit. -

THE IRON STABLE is a lie. Inside joke. Disregard. -

I hope it happens tomorrow and I hope they call it Drum Corps if for no other reason just to P*** off all you dinos. But it's not going to happen. A woodwind instrument in the pit? Sure. A flute line? lol no. -

Ya, the second paragraph was more a general thing and not a direct response. Should've made that more clear. -

For instance, we have two rival show titles for the Bluecoats. A Brave New World vs. The Iron Stable. Either way we get to talk about something other then the same ol same ol. -

If by interesting then you mean superior to DCP. Then yes. Hooray for getting to post what you actually want to say! Rumors and leaked info make the off season far more interesting. Any press is good press. Screw the "respect the corps announcement" crowd. If they didn't want it leaked they would've been more careful with the information. -
Or maybe they think your idea is just......... It's drum corps. Stop thinking so hard. You're going to hurt yourself. Or at least just look pedantic on a Jeff Goldblum level. And no one really wants to talk to that guy. They never get a word in edge wise, and when they do it's met with a condescending "no i'm still right". Wait....could that be, perhaps, why no one is seriously responding to the OP? hmmmmmmmm..............
