  1. 84 Scouts 01 Scouts - surprised nobody has mentioned this one
  2. I've been an avid reader, but don't post that often. I'm very busy with 2 jobs, and two kids, but always found time to check in on DCP to see what's going on with DCI. The scores, changes, conspiracy theories. I've enjoyed it, but now have a feeling of a let down of some sort. Drum corp season is over, school starts soon, summer is coming to an end. I'm bummed. What do you do now? I'll listen to previous years cd's, and wait for this years to come out. And start waiting for the best 3 months of the next year. Drum Corp season. Thanks for another great year.
  3. Sorry - I don't have the answer, but am curious too. Never heard of so many endings, and all of them no one seems to like. Scouts have had some of the best endings ever so you wouldn't think it would be to hard. Maybe to late though.
  4. Ohiostatetad - dude - the smiley face - it was a joke - why do you think I put '96???
  5. I haven't been to semi's in a while - is this normal practice to announce scores as they go?? I can't remember.
  6. I feel bad for Crossmen. First time out of finals since '88. :(
  7. From BD forum "Cadets are setting up.... a door in the middle of the field.... should be an interesting production..." interesting
  8. That's to bad. The first recordings I had were mid eighties of top twelve, and BD was always one of my favorites. So I guess letting that go is hard too.
  9. What 5 years in a row are your favorite for you?? Mine would have to be SCV 84-88. Not only are their placements great, but what about the music!?! Red Pony, Tenderland, RCM, Phantom, Festive etc... Plus some really cool visuals - changing uni's, and magic. Ironic - no winners though, and I also prefer 88 to 89 big time for Phantom.
  10. I think a number of top 12 corps should listen to the complete 87 Vanguard show from 87 as an example of an excellent musical AND visual show. One of my all time favorites.
  11. I also heard that their "Incredibles" is killer too. Why not for a show?? I don't get it.
  12. I like the last minute or so of music - that's about it. Visual was awesome, but just in the cd player? No thanks.
  13. I also agree that in the last ten years that I like 98 and 00 the best. I get so sick of West Side Story but I really like the arranging in 98, and I love the whole 00 show, espcially the ending.
  14. I agree some of the bari lines in 93 are awesome. And yeah - the soloists are awesome, but the "boppity" attacks are getting real old. It's become habit in the arranging.
  15. I'm having a tough time with understanding BD's horn arranging for the last 10 years or so. They are one of my favorite corps, but I don't get the horn arranging. I know this has been talked about but was curious about your thoughts. Overall the quality of players, is as always outstanding. They execute the parts, and play musically, and with dynamics. I prefer pre '95. There are actual songs. The whole program seems to revolve around the music. I just listened to top five from 04, and BD is my least favorite. I felt like I was listening to 03 for much of the show. Sure Summertime was recognizable, but it's just different. Sorry for my angst. I really am just disapointed. I wish for a old time show from BD. It's not even old time - SCV, PR, Madison are still classic drum corp shows musically. Just to hear something like 91 or 86 or 81 again. Lately the shows show off ability, but are lacking in overall ways of connecting with the fan. Any thoughts??
  16. I sure hope so. I haven't seen or heard this years show - but it surely seem like a down year for SCV.
  17. Freelancers 81-83 & 89 are some of my favorite shows of those years. I keep hoping for a comeback.
  18. PR 03 = one of my favorite shows of all time.
