  1. It I was 18 today and played a mean bari like I did BITD, I'd march Phantom! If it was BITD when I was 18 I'd march 1966 Troopers!
  2. I totally agree! My hubby's good friend. They marched in St. Lucy's together. The 3 snares were Chew Gernandt, Kenny DeStevens and Bobby Hamilton.
  3. I'm so proud that my late husband, Bob Hamilton, is going to be inducted into the NJ Drum Corps Hall of Fame. I only wish he were here to enjoy the recognition.
  4. Just listened to Off the Record Ah, those french horns! That sure brought back memories of my early drum corps days. Andy, yes, Vinnie Ratford taught BS drill before Frank Kubinak. I heard many Vinnie Ratford stories from my BS buddies. He was one heck of a character! I look forward to the next installment of Off the Record!
  5. In April 1994 Bob had a run in with a table saw and the table saw won! He lost his left index finger and almost lost his left thumb but having a wonderful hand surgeon and Bob's determination, he did not loose use of that finger. At that time he was drumming with the Reilly Raiders (see I know how to spell it!), so following the accident he was out of commission for a very long time. When he recovered he began to play again but, if you know Bob, if he couldn't do something 100%, he wouldn't do it! So, he became Reilly's drum major and held that position until he became ill in 1998. As DM he wore white gloves and, of course, the empty left index finger would just flap in the breeze when he conducted! You can imagine the jokes that the guys made about that! There was never a dull moment when Hamilton was around! This house is a little too quiet for me now! Gosh, I miss him and I know you all do too! But, do we have memories!!!!!
  6. Man on the right look like Nick Attanasio, rudimental bass drummer extraordinaire.
  7. Hey Andy, I'm doing just fine! I'm having fun with this thread! Happy Easter to you and the family!
  8. OK, you guys are making me crazy!!!!! Stevie Williams, Bobby Love, Chuckie Dohn, Lenny Haring, Fran Haring, Mike Marsh, Wayne Poulson, Andy Lisko, Danny Raymond, Jr., Chico, etc., etc., etc. I knew/know each of these guys. My name was Rose Vivalo, now Rose Hamilton. I was married to the late Bobby Hamilton of St. Lucy's/Skyliner fame. He was not only a great guy but a fantastic snare drummer! I marched with my brother, Bob Vivalo, in the Sacred Heart Crusaders, Manville, NJ. He played french horn and I played bari. Bobby Love, I don't know if you remember me but we were friends back in the mid-60s and hung out a few times when you marched with BS. Fran, I didn't know Wayne Poulson was your brother-in-law? And, didn't realize he's marching with Cabs Alum now. I marched with Wayne in the Crusaders. Please tell him Rose says hi and I hope to see him at a Cabs Alumni event. Great topic! Rose
  9. My brother called me from Nashville to let me hear the CorpsVets. The corps sounded good and great crowd reaction. Sweet hornline.
  10. Fran, I've been following the updates on your wife Barb's progress. She has been in my prayers since your first post. God is helping her with her progress and helping you to get through this. What would we do without our wonderful drum corps community. They are there for us in the good times and the difficult times. A Fellow Sacred Heart Crusader! Rosemarie Vivalo Hamilton
