Yes its nice when having the younger and older coming over to the table and signing up.. Had a Guy that is 40 that is pretty pumped about coming. I can only tell you that we have had many members leave us to march with DCI corps Cadets BD Crossmen Blue Stars Madison Boston. Etc.. we have had memebers come from Japan to Gain experience. So the answer is yes if you have the want to you will learn and will be able to do DCI.

All I have to say is. Terry is more than Worthy. Terry & Gary could be Twins in a way.(brothers if you will ) Terry is Gary's right left hand arm foot Man. One of the unseen/heard of people behind our Great DL's. So no worries the DL will still be throwing it down like they do. Because it really is not a replacement per say. Just one way of giving a guy his just deserves as the other moves up. (thats what friends/family do for one another) Gary is still here doing alot of things as Staff Coordinator. p.s. it is also ok that they are Eagle and Cowboy Fans we still love'em.. In 06 We were in some little park actually just some open space that we made a field out of and used our trucks for the staff to climb on top of to clean drill. . Then the next day we were in a parking lot across from the old 96 finals site.. Doing drill around the light poles ahhhh the fun.. Just makes for some stories later on .. (hey remember when you marched into the light pole)

Yes there were some people that have done that in the past. (how they worked it all out I am not sure but it has been done) Last year we had a Member who came from Japan. He had been trying out for Madison Scouts for a few years and wanted to gain some more experience and he had seen a video of us and came out. I am Happy to say that he is now a member of the Madison Scouts Naoki is name and if you are at east he will tell you the story he is a super nice Guy. This year we have a member in the pit that comes everyweekend from Atlanta. He has family in the New York area so that helps. If I ever hit the lottery Big then the corps might have a housing complex for people such as you so you can find a little job and pay a little rent and march. A dollar and a dream you never know.

Yo, Karen, The other thing they forgot to mention.. Is they will be there the week after also. Doing the Cabs show. Not sure how long you are in town. Just thought I would share..

They are doing basic's drill. You can see they have a Rookie that falls out every now and then and has to be told were to go. The visuals are new but remember it is still early in the season. But they will be in the parade also

I am with you on that Kay.. When I came to the corps in 02 it was a "Fun" year I was going to do a year and be done. But at the Alumni Spectacular thats when I knew I was going to be back for more. Its hard to explain but WOW the emotions that goes through you as you look at the members on the field and the members in the stands especially when Evita was played WOW. It was a Church like moment. So yeah I am glad we have that. So what do I think about Manditory. never thought of it because we knew it was there if we wanted to participate. (last year some drummers were going to but later they decided not to) But maybe some how you can open it up to other alumni. How do you control that how do you know they are real alumni.. Maybe they have to be sponsored by said alumni corps. A simple letter for verification.. How about for current marching members it is free for alumni in a non marching capacity there is a fee 50 bucks or something. This way it helps pay for the venue and well those that really want to do it will put up the money..

Funny I was thinking about this when I first started to read this thread. Even though they played Children of Sanchez I still liked it because each corps did something to it a little different most of the time. Then again those where the days when every corps had some sort of really good soloist the would feature. That was fun. Guess that is why everyone still Loves BD we know we are going to have some really good solo work included. Don't get me wrong I like the corps today also just saying that is a nice plus. Hey they use to play some songs the next year again. Come on who does not like North star 79 and 80. (sorry Youngens you can listen to the recordings) Yeah We know about Playing Original it can work for you and against you.. Like you said above just be entertaining..
