  1. well ray linkous is a genius, so i wouldn't doubt it.
  2. that reminds me...isn't crown annoucing at the coutdown? =]
  3. well drum corps is kinda a closed 'to it's own thing' if someone outside wants to get in on it....fine, but it's a close circle of people and they like to be suspensful and wait on releasing shows, and the mass public and marketing doesn't seem to be the ultimate goal. I don't really see a problem with it, but I would like to point out that i think there's a big difference between DCI marketing, and an individual corps release of information.
  4. http://cgi.ebay.com/French-Horn-Olds-Ultra...1QQcmdZViewItem ran across it tonight on ebay, thought someone might want it (no it's not mine)
  5. closer is awesome, just a little dirty, but not bad at all.
  6. at least the drum major looks cute from this angle =P
  7. I guess it's because they're testing stuff, but they seem to have alot of down time in rehearsal, lol.

  9. Carolina Gold is doing a rehearsal/exhibition at East Wake High school near Raleigh, NC. This afternoon. Show Starts at 5pm for anyone who's interested on coming out to see what they're doing. Just thought i'd give an heads up.
  10. I would say it does. The only difference is that we don't know if they will come back strong, as it's happening now as opposed to already happening and looking back on it. My guess is that Carolina Gold will drop to A Class, they're size leans towards that anyway. They're still pushing strong this season, in fact i'm going to hear the play at an winterguard show in exhibition this afternoon, so we'll see. Either way, I wish the best for carolina gold, i'll march there again when i age out, lol.
  11. You know...i'm tired of the "Recognizable Music" Debate everyone whines about, because almost every corps i've heard lately..plays recognizable music....what the problem is...IMHO...the perspective and range of music you as a listener listen to is the problem if you find yourself saying "What in the hell are they playing?"
  12. ....i went to the site to see if anything was new... "Drum Corps Sheet Music will be back soon...waiting on a list of stuff to remove" sigh....
  13. I can see you're point. But more. Perhaps offer PDF AND sebilius and finale? i dunno. I just hate having to plug everything into sibelius so i can alter it. And good point about it being shut down....about that.... THAT WEBSITE DOES NOT EXSIST, DON'T EVEN CLICK THE LINK IT'S FAKE. hopefully that will ward off any DCI police nazis.
  14. yea the tunes tend to be more 'parade style tunes' but there's some good stuff on there, some of it is program specific also (finale, sibelius, and most is PDF)
  15. it was really 'supposed selections' it was the camp expectations for the hornline to have learned.
  16. looks like another great second place finish for phantom. keep in mind I love phantom when I say that...it just seems to be their trend
  17. Yes they do, depending on area. It was something i think that was tried back in the 80s, but fell through. Now (especially up north) they have indoor ensembles, although some circuits call them 'Indoor Band' and allow woodwinds as well =\ As far as the south a few are popping up. I'm the assistant director for Platinum Indoor Ensemble, we marched around 16 brass this winter along with a few guard and a drumline. It's a working process and Atlantic Indoor Association is looking to add a circuit for us, so we shall see.
  18. Key Poulan already did that. He arranged SCVs, then provided one for highschools.
  19. Not really true, when you write out the music, if an 'accidental' is there the entire piece or section, it becomes pretty clear what key it is...assuming you have basic theory skills...which to arrange or transcribe i would assume (and hope) you would.
  20. Anyone here seen Pride of Cinccinati <sp? winterguard show? Awesome stuff, maybe they can pull some stuff from there for ideas?
