  3. As a Crown alum and homer, I've gotta say... I don't like posting about my drum corps' performance all that often because of obvious bias, but I've gotta say I don't know that the drum corps has put forward a better performance this year, or ever. That was unbelievable. Be right back, gonna go get my flame suit on.
  4. Ditto. I'm going to be ill. That said, they have a thing for laying down their best on Semis night, so hopefully they can overcome that tradition tomorrow, but man I'm glad I got to watch that.
  5. Ensemble looks good, but individually there are some weird things going in. Couple missed/slow horn moves early? I was surprised.
  6. I think Bluecoats are the only group I've heard tonight that didn't strike me with the occasional brass ticky moment here and there (SCV being the other), but I also don't know that the demand is on the same level as BD/Cadets.
  7. Trucking back to the topic! Bluecoats sound great tonight. I would love to hear a brass-only recording of this show.
  8. "Breathe-Dah" methodology has taken over there, planted by Donnie Van Doren. Similar approach as Crown 03-09 (and beyond in some respects), Madison 2010-2014, etc.
  9. Have you ever been through the process of going from warmup to the field at Lucas Oil? If not, it's pretty hard to understand. It's one of the things I really don't like about having Finals in Indy. I think that has more to do with performance issues than actually performing in there - it's not a very intimidating stadium from the field the way the stands are laid out, honestly.
  10. I have been praying (lol) to the Flying Spaghetti Monster for Crown to do a dark show for some number of years. I always thought they'd be able to pull off that ominous 96 Regiment kinda show. I don't think this show is entirely an analog to that one, but it is the darkest Crown has done in recent memory, obviously. To see them competitively successful with such a show is a dream come true, but I'm not counting my chickens yet. Would love to see them win guard and brass.
  11. That's fair, but I think a Dumpster Fire will have a hard time in the bad hair caption (particularly toupee subcaption) against this crowd. Spray tans are a toss-up, too.
  12. Here's how I've got 'em: Donald Trump (Real Estate Magnate) Jeb Bush (Former Gov. - FL) Rand Paul (Sen. - KY) Ted Cruz (Sen. - TX) Marco Rubio (Sen. - FL) Chris Christie (Gov. - NJ) Scott Walker (Gov. - WI) Mike Huckabee (Former Gov. - AR) Ben Carson (Former Neurosurgeon, John Hopkins Hospital) John Kasich (Gov. - OH)
  13. Glad it's not just me, but I really hope they clear up the popping before tomorrow night's show... Wonder if it's happening in theaters, too.
  14. Am I the only one getting popping noises throughout the Live tunnel stream?
  15. Has nothing to do with fluctuations/vendettas and everything to do with scoring trends - and that's not even anything new. 95% of people that teach (and many CMMs) will tell you that they have "good judges" and "bad judges" and likewise good/bad panels. Whether that's all perception based outside of reality or not may be up for discussion, but at the very least these people have some reason to believe in those trends. Edit: FWIW I don't know that anyone's much buying in on this idea this year based on the insanely tight spreads at the top.
  16. All history aside, I don't know how you can say that the admin has no interest in building a strong percussion line after the numerous moves they've made since 2010 that indicate the contrary. They have been lucky with a consistent core guard staff and brass staff, both of which have grown and changed considerably, but have seen the same key figures at their respective helps since... 2003? They're still looking for that magic in the percussion caption.
  17. Talk about a good night for Bluecoats to make a statement!
