  1. Well, I must say that I realy believe that the solo soprano work in Slaughter on 10th Avenue (1975 Madison Scouts) is by far my favorite of all time and BEYOND difficult. Just sick, SICK stuff!!!
  2. I know it's not the same but, maybe they'll put out a dvd of the show. Let's Hope!
  3. They will be clean, aggressive, musical, and clean. Not to Mention CLEAN!
  4. That would be Awesome but, I think that Crown would actually, in this case, pull it off better. (just a thought)
  5. Yeah, I agree. Some music just does not come accross well in the Drum Corps medium. But certain corps have a knack for bringing some music to the field in a good and surprising way that you wouldn't think would be possible with certain music. For instance, I'll use Carolina Crown as my example. I have to admit when I saw that they would be playing "Wild Horses" last year I was skeptical. WOW, was I ever wrong. One of the most beautiful selections of the whole season. Also a few years ago when I heard they would be playing "Bohemian Rhapsody" it only brought back very painful memories of band after band and even a corps or two torturing us with renditions that should have never happened (lol). Well, all I can say is another time I was wrong. The first time I had EVER heard that song done well on the field. Anyway, just an example that I hope fits with this topic.
  6. True Story! Two guys from the high school I went to in Lithia Springs Georgia were in the Contra line for Spirit of Atlanta in 1979 (1980 as well) but, the story happened in '79. Anyway, My band director, another friend of mine and myself had found Spirit's Contra line, alone, warming up before the show (Drums Across America, Georgia Tech's Grant Field). Anyway, a young man in a Crossman uniform had come along carrying his baritone and stopped for a moment and after a few moments of seriously painful BLASTS (Not bad painfull but just that FingLoud !) from the Contra line, and I'm not exagerating, hung his and and walked away shaking his head and muttering under his breath. Classic moment that I'll never forget.
  7. And that Tom Float Drumline I don't even want to go there You know what I mean Big Snare.
  8. 1: Carolina Crown 2: Bluecoats 3: Phantom Regiment 4: Madison Scouts 5: Glassmen
  9. Aren't you the one who said that no corps had EVER won high drums with tilted snares LOL go on about yourself boy.
  10. I have been Following Drum Corps since 1976 and the loudest hornline ever, EVER, was 1979 and 1980 SPIRIT of ATLANTA! The opening hit of Georgia on My mind and the closing notes of LET it be ME were absolutley the loudest horn/drum corps sound ever IMO only a few have even approached it since but not met it or surpassed it.
  11. And the knee slapping goodness continues ROFLMAO !!!!! Hurry up tell me another one. Keep the laughs coming. HOO HOO whew
  12. ?!?! Big Snare It wasn't that LSU GRAD 82 made a slight mistake. The post totally rang of being extremely sure his post was correct to the point that he Challenged us to prove him wrong. I think that he opened himself up to most comments, fair or not. When you say something so off target and in such a sure and confident manner then WOW look out!
  13. Also Isn't LSU GRAD 82 the one who said "NO-ONE HAS EVER WON THE HIGH DRUM TITLE IN DCI WITH TILTED SNARES! CORECT ME IF I'M WRONG!!!" LMAO What a .........
