  1. What I've said for weeks now... it's gonna be a tie at finals, with the tiebreaker rules giving it to BD
  2. I'd say recognizable/exciting music in most cases... Or a theme (visual and musical) that anyone can latch onto easily, for example The Machine (not saying it was a simple show, but it seemed to be as enjoyable on the surface as it was at deeper levels as well). Or, single viewing entertainment... you don't have to see the show more than once to enjoy it. (not to say its not enjoyable upon repeat viewings by any means)
  3. Alright, I won't do it justice at all I'll tell you right now... I guess at some point in the show, one of the guard members pulled her broin or other muscle in that general vicinity (maybe it cramped up) anyway, she fell on the ground in pain, and I guess the cameraman or director thought, HEY LOOK, A GUARD SOLO, CLOSEUP NOW! And held on her as she well... tried to work out the cramp, I guess is the best way to put it, for a good long while. I wasn't there, just heard about it, so that may be all lies
  4. Web streams and on-demand... ...and a monster lineup at Drums Along the Rockies
  5. I guess they've resolved the issue for audio recordings since then, and maybe not video yet... eh, I dunno. I just lurk here
  6. I was hearing that the problem may only be for video reproduction at this point... *shrug* could be wrong though.
  7. Lol... To address the original post in a way people may or may not have, when BD members undulate (yeah that's right ) it's a character moment, where it is apparent (or maybe not to some people?) that they are loosening up just to groove and wail. Not everything has to be militaristic or ballet in drum corps...
  8. Haha, that made me chuckle... Not that you said they'd jump, just the whopper thing.
  9. I believe there was a certain incident with a BK guard member in San Antonio 2000... perhaps someone who was actually there can shed more light on it. It involved the jumbotron
  10. They also get all (lots of) the golds, it's a trade off
  11. Right, I'm just saying you gotta look at both, not just the marching, not just the music
  12. You are correct sir. 04-05 was also Scott Whitford and 05 was also Ryan Darke (Scott Dean was the only one with all the double C's though)
  13. Not necessarily... playing a sustained pitch (and keeping the feet out of the sound) while jazz running is much more demanding than playing eighth or sixteenth note figures while marching 8-5 or smaller.
