  1. A far better recording of the show music...Thanks BFDTV!
  2. This is wicked pissah! Wow! There is definitely some Sader brew in Castleton this year!
  3. I think the poster meant "come back" as the K and M are close keys on keyboard...
  4. Hopefully that will allow them to deal better with the anticipated sky high diesel prices!
  5. To answer, yes of course 2022 will be judged and I didn't see a rule change putting judges on the field again. The most interesting aspect in judging for 2022 IMO... “We have some really great candidates who were going to be in their first year of judging, they’d done the trial judging, they’d done all of the other interviews and presented their material to us, and they were ready to go,” said John Phillips DCI judge administrator. If you want to learn what has been going on in the judging community, there is more information here: https://www.dci.org/news/looking-ahead-to-the-return-of-competition-in-2022
  6. The video is probably "unlisted". Therefore, you won't find in search.
  7. You are correct. I am only going by what they posted... --------------------
  8. It is both. I plan on going to theater for a change this year and then watching the replay on flo the next day.
  9. I agree. Partnering with a prestigious music school would be a good idea IMO. College credit and more exposure for the school You would think that would be a win-win for both of the parties.
  10. I will quickly chime in on CYO... CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) Nationals was one of the most prestigious "invitationals" in the country. You did not have to be a church sponsored corps to be invited, but the highest ranking local CYO circuit corps would earn an automatic spot. It was open to all corps usually the top corps in the country and a couple of up and coming corps. I think it was always around the same time as the World Open and Danny Thomas shows so they could get the corps coming in for the World Open. It was invitation only, selected from the best corps in North America with the exception of a CYO corps from the Boston CYO circuit that was selected by the corps results for that season. In the early years, more than one Boston area CYO corps was included. However, this overlooks the many CYO corps and competitions that existed. Several major metropolitan areas had large CYO activity including the usual sports (baseball, hockey etc.), drum corps, marching band and drill teams. There were hundreds of marching units mostly in but not limited to the Boston Metro, New York, and New Jersey areas. In Boston, there was at least one CYO circuit show per week, usually on a Sunday afternoon though there were some exceptions. The schedule ran from late May to mid September culminating in the CYO Music Festival where all units competed. During the '60s there were so many units in Boston that the Music Festival was a 2 day affair! As Drum Corps disbanded starting in the late '60s the activity got smaller and eventually the circuits were abolished as there were not enough units to sponsor shows and compete. This reduction was mirrored in the CYO sports leagues as well. The author of this post is @up4479. I made some edits to the original post.
  11. Production Enhancements Coming For The 2022 DCI Season Summary: 1080p Enhanced Audio - From more mics on the field to getting direct-from-the-corps audio feeds. Archives with Sound - Doubled investment into synchronization rights Beefed-up multi-cam feeds - brought on directors for the multi-cam feeds that not only are excellent technically, but also have extensive experience teaching and performing in the marching arts. Corps-submitted Visual Cue Sheets - we're asking corps to provide visual cue sheets prior to their first performance so the best version of the show's visual experience is translated to the broadcast. Rebroadcasts every show - Every single show that is streaming on FloMarching throughout the 2022 DCI season will also have a rebroadcast (with sound!) the following day. 12. I haven't seen one drill set or heard one note from BAC. I do enjoy reading the "glowing" reviews here. I am going to just say that I look forward to them entertaining me this season (as they always have), no matter what the placement turns out to be on the field. Predictions can be fun to speculate "what if", but IMO not much more than educated guesses (sometimes outlandish or conservative) at this point for any corps. It is not a crime to root for your favorites IMO. A conservative guess for me though would be that BD will win again this year for example. I think the gap between actual competitive season of 2019 and now may play into a few shake-ups. I also have come to realize that just because a corps improves does not necessary always equate to placement movement. I will assess more specifically for BAC after Detroit. Eat 'em up BOSTON!
  13. Corps these days go ballistic over leaks, so I doubt anyone will confirm...unless it's been released from the corps itself...I am not even sure if it is against forum rules to leak...the sad result is it leaves not much to talk about IMO...
  14. I get a Charlie and the chocolate factory vibe from this poster...
  15. I don't know much about drums. Perhaps a drummer might chime in of what they think about Pearl versus others...Didn't BAC use Yamaha before?...Would you consider these an upgrade or just the same as say Yamaha?...These look cool though...
  16. It sounds like no corps is without their challenges, BD included. Happy they found a place to rehearse on short notice. When I marched we only had a huge parking lot available and no other facilities. We were basically a vagabond corps. Ten or so of us even had to pick up a car or two and move them out of the way in the lot.
  17. How many.... horns you got Sincerely Joe Bananas
  18. I don't think that would happen as that changes the performance fee structure for the corps and perhaps the pool allocation as well. We already had a huge riff about that several years ago at a higher level in the food chain. It was also my understanding from what I read that the open-class corps like having their own division.
  19. I am very jealous you get to spend this time with the corps. This is a nice time of the year in Vermont except maybe it rains a bit more often. I wish I was a fly on the wall watching practice.
  20. It would be nice to know if the rest of the DC community will be pleased as well...
