  1. Bump. Updated to "or best offer" and updated delivery details.
  2. I have 1 ticket available for Prelims on Thursday night in Section 139 Row 7. Many corps seem to be centered around this spot this year (35-40 yd line on side 2), so it's almost like being right on the 50! Will sell for $60 (slightly less than what I paid for it), or best offer. I will be arriving in Indy Thursday afternoon around 3:30pm-4pm. I am not planning on entering the stadium until 6pm for the top 15, but we can set up a meeting somewhere, otherwise. Please let me know if you are interested!
  3. Going to be in the area for Prelims and thought I'd take in my first Championships experience. Looking for 3 tickets, preferably close to the 50, but will certainly entertain others. As a side question, how likely is it to move in towards the center during Prelims if our seats are further out? At what point do the center sections start to fill up? Thank you all!
  4. Does anyone else have a problem with the DVR function on live webcasts through Android devices? I am on a Samsung S4 and cannot use DVR during live streams.
  5. Does anyone know if the live streaming is supported by HTML5, or is it Flash? I have been using Chrome Beta and Google Chromecast to watch videos in the Fan Network media library (which I assume are HTML5) and it works great! It would be fantastic to push webcasts to my TV from a phone and not have a huge setup. I've sent this to DCI already and am interested in what they say. Let me know if any of you all know the answer. If no one knows, I'll be sure to post their response.
  6. Thank you both for your responses. I'm a relative newbie (started paying attention to drum corps in 2005), so I didn't realize that's the way it had usually been. I've been getting my CDs in September or October over the past few years. I'll be on the lookout for the note.
  7. I ordered my 2011 Blu-Ray/CD bundle a few days ago when the DCI Store said the CDs would be available by October 3rd. After a quick glance at the DCI Store today, it appears they have changed the CD availability date to November. Does anyone have any information on this change (DrumCat maybe)? In the years I've been following the activity, the CDs have never come out any later than the first couple weeks of October. Is there something holding up production?
  8. I absolutely love the Holdridge. By the end of the season I can easily see it being compared with some of the classic Phantom openers (1991, 1996, and 2003 come to mind). The only thing in the opener that seems to be bugging me every time I listen to it is the last big chord and it's resolution. I want to hear each of them twice as long but I get bummed out when I don't. Instead of 4 beats of chord followed by 4 beats of resolution and diminuendo, I'm feeling 8 beats of chord followed by 8 beats of resolution with the last 4 of those as a diminuendo. I just don't feel like we're getting the full effect of what is possible there. Granted, last year's opener had many things change by the end of the season so I'm sure I'll be quite happy with the end result anyway. Can't wait to see this in Round Rock a week from Sunday!
  9. Does anyone elses CD have a skipping noise at 1:49 in the Bluecoats' show? It's almost as if the track didn't burn correctly. Everything else sounds fantastic.
  10. The Longhorn Band will also be doing a Glee show later in the football season. I agree with most of you that I would never want to see Glee on the field with a drum corps, but there are resources available to a college marching band that a drum corps would not have (like a jumbotron...you can probably get the idea). For a football crowd, I think a Glee show works...but NEVER for a drum corps, in my opinion.
  11. Alright BugleBand...you started it Although I did say "from people who know nothing about DCI" so that doesn't count...
  12. Nope. I'm just waiting for the obligatory "band nerd" comments at the bottom of the story from people who know nothing about DCI. edit: clarity
  13. I love how the media puts a story together 2 weeks before it's released just to wreck havoc during World Championships (sarcasm off). I am not a big fan of the G7 idea, but this is not the kind of media attention the activity needs.
  14. What happens if you have the Premium HD Fan Network package (or Premium SD, for that matter) but would also like a CD? Surely they don't expect you to pay $29 for the CD on top of the Fan Network package. That would make the combined price (minus the Plus part of the Fan Network) $139, plus shipping (which is free if you just get the Blu-ray with the Premium HD package). That's $10 more than $129 for the Blu-Ray/CD package. Factoring in shipping, and it approaches $20 more. Hopefully DCI sees this dilemma and offers some other options for Fan Network subscribers.
  15. See a certain unmentionable video website and check out the "Running Hornline" ...sounds to me like they are playing more than a mezzo forte. I also had the privilege to see this show at one of their rehearsals. They were definitely all playing.
  16. Looks like the quality issue was on my end or its been fixed for the ones I checked out. Still got problems with audio/video sync for SCV's show and Crown's ending though.
  17. I am having the same issue with SCV's video. I've also noticed that some of the videos are higher quality than others. Some are the same quality they were on the webcast and others are noticeably more muffled and blurry (BK, BAC, and Phantom to name a few). Does anyone know if DCI is aware of these issues?
  18. I know the Cadets have always been very serious and hardcore when it comes to their rehearsals, but I witnessed some things last week in Houston that could be contributing to the problem. During rehearsal, there were multiple instances where staff members were not on the same page when it came to keeping a change, staying with the current way of doing it, etc. It seemed to me that some staff wanted it one way, others wanted it another, and it just wasn't all coming together. It was pretty evident that this was causing the staff a decent bit of frustration. It was confusing the corps members as well. To me, when staff isn't on the same page and there seems to be bickering and disagreement going on, there is a problem. This is pure speculation regarding what I observed at the rehearsal, but I feel like it might be a valid point. I'm not saying it isn't normal to have at least some disagreement, but this just seemed excessive to me. Their scores aren't going up with other corps that they have been sticking with all season long (Cavies, Crown, Bluecoats), and it just seems like these differences could have something to do with it. With that said, I really do like the show this year. It has its "cheesyish" moments, but there are enough classic Cadet moments for me to really enjoy it. Has anyone else witnessed anything remotely like the things I'm describing? Does anyone else think this could have an impact on their scores right now?
  19. Cavaliers are a pretty long distance from San Antonio but a very short distance from me! Housing: McNeil High School 5720 McNeil Drive Austin, TX 78729 Rehearsal: Dragon Stadium 300 N. Lake Creek Drive Round Rock, TX 78681
