i said crown only because no high school program would do anything that deals with death, phantom and cavies, or allow their student to say breast on the field... then bd would be possible, but i think its just a little to crazy to try to recreate

i mean if its breaking the rules with the whistle flute recorder thing, then thats kind of lame, i dont have a problem with the noise, its cool very kung fu movie. in other words its fine by me the only time i had a problem with it was in madison when he played it a little to close to the mic and it was a little over bearing. but anyway, its not like its used to play any kind of melody or used for more than a few beats in the entire show.

why is there such hostility between past present and future blue stars members? i mean i said this in this thread before until your paying for it out of your pocket, or are on the design team, can you really complain? if it bothers you that much, get yourself into a position to where you can fix it. your not going to completely stop watching them for changing to shakos just like people havent stopped watching cadets for this 3 year journey of theirs, and you know it. so after the first couple pages, was this thread neccessary anymore? and finally the only selling out ive seen recently was AB selling out to InBev, now guess where im from...

so this thread has had a lot of hits for being up less than 48hours, impressive...

ok i dont want to sound mean or degrading, but ive always wanted to see pioneer do something cool. it seemed that for a while every show i went to, had pioneer there, and they usually went on 1st (unless there was an open/div2/3 before), and finished last. and at every show i wondered if they members put in as much practice time as say BD or Cavies. do they? for once i would just like them do something exciting, fast paced, in your face, irish music... U2 maybe?(irish right), play vertigo, or something along those lines. maybe get away from the classic irish danny boy and gaelic songs, or do the songs just take them a lot faster, and do something modern and rockin just get a show in the works and maybe someday soon you can bring the house down and push your way back up into the mixer. finally, is it the design team that holds corps back like this? im not exactly 100% sure where i was going with this, but i saw a post and it had some point system and on it pioneer wasnt even in the ballpark anymore. that got me thinking on how badly i would just love to see them burst their comfort bubble and do something amazing next year or 2010.

they won me, with BD being close, but i guess what i think in the long run means nothing oh scouts are actually 2nd, but theyre not really competing for the title right now

chuck norris wouldnt even have to threaten them with bodily harm, just one single glance from chuck norris is enough to have the judges #### their pants

maybe the thrill of saying breast on a marching field got old? or maybe one of her kids horoscope is cancer

if you want to talk about sell outs, then read up on AB selling out to InBev... let them do what they want with their uniforms, unless you are paying for those uniforms from your pocket (i dont think many people are), on the design board, or currently marching in the corps, then dont complain. yes it might be hard for the die hard alumni to see that change, but hey these things happen (just think now you can call yourself one of the lucky few for the past XXyears got to wear that sacred helmet). but hey, its a piece of headgear, its not like theyre folding, or going to open class. so maybe just stop take a breath, see them live, talk with a current member after the season is over ask them their opinion, and then get back to this thread.

maybe PBS could stop showing those lame showswith their fundraiser things and broadcast dci with it

just curious about this, dont the uni companies make them for them for free? and also get them to them pretty quickly? my hs band director was wondering how the scouts just for example could call them up say hey we need new unis and get them in a few weeks while if he ordered some it would take many months

the helments were cool, the new unis are ok( i suppose) they need to incorperate their old look with a new modern twist. maybe make the helmets blue with a white plum, or blue with a white plum. or maybe i just have a hatred for shakos because everyone and their mother uses them, ok maybe not everyone. at least it doesnt have the eagle on it like a lot of HS have, i like the star on it

my thoughts are they would be an unstoppable force. they have the music and GE down solid. but the white unis do show a lot more "dirt" than the dark pants and bright colored tops of a lot of other corps wear, wont mention names, but we all know who im talking about

ok after checking out the recaps, rather quickly, i noticed that for some captions with 2 judges, there were rather large differences in the 2 scores. but for others, the difference is pretty small (understandable). if the judges all had to go through the same program and training to become judges, how can they have such large differences in scores if they were watching the same show? Madison Scouts GE visual music 1 2 avg 1 2 avg 16.60 17.20 16.90 15.50 16.40 15.95 Boston Crusaders GE visual music 1 2 avg 1 2 avg 16.30 17.70 17.00 16.70 17.10 16.90 in bold are some examples of scores that dont seem to go together. its not just for the scouts, but it does seem to just be the GE judges.

so i would donate, but i plan on auditioning there this fall, so i need all the money i have right now anyway.... and i really dont care about scores, if i did, i would never have marched at my high school , i just want to see them "successful", and all i mean by that is performing as many times this season as they can (in finals). i think theyre show is awesome, looks very tough especially compared to xmen, whose entire show is random X shapes. the scouts are the only ones who are not in the top 12 currently that show actually entertains me, them and troopers. and they deserve a lot of credit for that. after the season is over, and i wanted a compilation dvd of 12 corps shows, it would probably end up like this 1 phantom 2 scouts 3 troopers 4 bluecoats 5 bd 6 scv 7 bac 8 cavies 9 bluestars 10 crown 11 colts 12 academy yes crown is really down in the bottom 4th

ive noticed there have been corps that havent really shot past scouts, just kinda weaseled their way past them right now, and scouts have just been hovering... yea i knwo this has been established already. anyway, have they been doing some sort of big changes lately and possibly arent 100% with it yet? or to make the question even broader, does anyone know why theyre scores have been stagnant(sp)?

yea but only 12 make it to finals, and this thread is finals 2008 predictions...

oh man texas tap water is aweful , its like drinking something laced with trace amounts of metal and a lot of chlorine. everytime i visit family, i die for something other than the water, even the soda tastes bad from the ice!

00 cadets, you know what im talkin about... and pretty much any scouts solo, especially the screamers. yea i know cheesy, but hey i play trumpet and are probably trying for them next year, and i know i cant hit that. so maybe its more envy?
