  1. Don't take me the wrong way. I too want The Troop to make finals as well. I just think some people are getting a bit too defensive towards people that don't like them or don't think they can do it.
  2. Props man for enjoying those shows. I enjoy Madison too, I'm a fan of '88 especially.
  3. I'm just saying, don't get so worked up about people like that. Being a Blue Knights fan, I'm used to hearing everything bad about BK. Hot dog corps, boring, too much body movement, just melt my face, etc.
  4. You have been extremely touchy in this whole thread. Jeez. Anyways, I look forward to seeing Madison's show in August. I think the sashes could either look better or worse in motion. My bet is on better.
  5. By the same logic, why make a statement to the effect that Troop will make Finals either?
  6. Not very good news for BK to see them struggling to beat Blue Devils B.
  7. Another really good show is 1989 SCV. The sound that the brass makes at the real start of their music is just amazing!
  8. Another really good show is 1989 SCV. The sound that the brass makes at the real start of their music is just amazing!
  9. The 6 is because it is the 6th annual Fathom showing of Quarters. I agree; I would be angry if I payed big bucks to only see the top 6 corps, especially since I probably wouldn't be able to see BK.
  10. Another very good show. My second favorite of all time.
  11. It is certainly at least one of the best shows, if not the best.
  12. I think the 6 is because it is the 6th time it has been done by Fathom.
  13. Thanks for the heads up man! I've been interested in hearing those vented Yammies. Yamaha comes right after Pearl in sound IMO.
  14. I will be taking two people almost entirely unfamiliar with the marching arts in general, to Drums Along the Rockies this year. If I had to guess which shows they will like I would say probably Bloo and SCV, because they seem to pick casual friendly music. I sadly have to agree with the two I bolded. When I went to the Quarters in theaters last year, I was not impressed with most of the lower scoring corps such as Pioneer, Spirt, Academy, Colts, and Crossmen. Their shows just weren't very enticing to me. For number 6, though I am a percussionist, I really do not like the sound of kevlar snare heads. I realize it is about projection, but they really do have no depth or musicality to them. It is the same thing as grabbing a slab of formica, throwing on a harness, and playing on that. I miss the sound of the mylar heads.
  15. If I remember right, the announcements for theaters came out in July last year.
  16. Naw, I am from Colorado you know. Can't root for Academy over BK. To me it means their percussion has started out slow if they can be beat by Academy.
  17. Not liking the sound of that. Just doesn't seem right.
  18. I'm terrible at music theory, but I love shows like the ones Star did and the ones BK does. Guess I just have an ear (and an eye) for unique shows that aren't all with the mold.
  19. I'm going to be at Drums Along the Rockies this year. I'm pretty excited to see BK and the Troopers. BK seems like they have a good show theme this year that could turn out to be a very good show. It is nice to the see the Troopers coming back after being pushed to the brink a couple years ago. Here's hoping the BK has their best year ever.
  20. I'm gonna have to go with Star 1991 as the best ending. That drill was just amazing; that cross to cross caught me by surprise the first time I saw it.
