  1. George Hopkins posted a video on his facebook (which probably means not everyone can see it) but its a video of the cadets ballad. It's sounds like it is a mix of The Doxology Hymn and Amazing Grace! It's so great!
  2. I think its better if you know how the original sounds and it sounds pretty close to "Angels in the Architecture". They skip over a large phrase from the original in this chunk but it still works! yay!
  3. I loved it when we were woken up with live music. Either the battery playing, or the pit playing, or something like that. I remember one time our sleeping area had a piano in it and our synth player woke us up with some beautiful romantic music!
  4. Yes, as far back as 2010 corps used to play with dynamics...
  5. That's true, adding electronics does make it "closer" to BOA just because BOA also has electronics. But I consider the marching arts all pretty similar anyway, and in that way the marching arts as seen in DCI and BOA are both unique.
  6. A video (different than the one posted on George's facebook) is available on the Cadets Facebook Page, which means EVERYONE can watch it. Here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/#!/cadets.org
  7. I guess you look it at is as: "shows like the SCV 2010 should not be in drum corps". While I am disheartened to think that shows like SCV go under appreciated.
  8. I guess in the opinion of those people going to the bathroom! ...I wasn't one of those people!
  9. I don't think I've ever heard an off season recording more exciting than that one! Intense!! WOW!!! -for those missing out, the brass is playing that part of the original Angels in the Architecture where there's the loud chord sequence at the end... yes, its amazing.
  10. Go Cadets! :D I'm greatly anticipating their show this year!
  11. According to a new press release from the cadets: http://www.yea.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=19088&news_iv_ctrl=1002 The article announces: "On the agenda for this weekend’s camp are rewrites and new music to the 2011 program, Angels in the Architecture." This suggest that the Cadets 2011 show is actually titled "Angels in the Architecture" and not "I believe in Angels".
  12. From the Cadets Facebook Page: "The Cadets just received another 1:30 of music for the show from Jay ... way ahead of schedule!! great news for the members and the planning team!! Have you checked it out ??? the original that is ??? We have plans .. this is for sure!!! Also ... we will be adding in 2 minutes of music from Angels and Demons !!! Looks... like a good summer for god guys and bad guys ....... Hopkins)" Cadets 2011 new repertoire: Angels and Demons Soundtrack by Hans Zimmer (mostly likely that's what was meant)
  13. CADET MUSIC UPDATE: From the Cadets Facebook page: "The Cadets just received another 1:30 of music for the show from Jay ... way ahead of schedule!! great news for the members and the planning team!! Have you checked it out ??? the original that is ??? We have plans .. this is for sure!!! Also ... we will be adding in 2 minutes of music from Angels and Demons !!! Looks... like a good summer for god guys and bad guys ....... Hopkins)" Looks like "Angels and Demons Soundtrack" is now part of their 2011 show!
  14. On the Cadets Facebook Page George Hopkins is having an open discussion about the Cadets Sing in 2011 and the TOC shows. It's funny how the Cadet's facebook page has turned into DCP but it seems a pretty neat way to share your (appropriate) thoughts with George directly.
  15. I did notice that too. I know wine glasses are also written in the original score of Angels in the Architecture. Pretty cool.
  16. This is very serious. I think that now its on DCP this corps has gotten enough exposure that something will be done about this. I'd hate for some idiot to steal student's money and possibly cause legal issues for DCI and taint the drum corps activity... :/
