I played french horn in 77. We had five i believe. At the begining of tour we really sucked. There was a part of ours that had to be switched to the sops beacause the drill during that part made the horn unplayable. At the end the french horn section was as loud and clean as the baris people were suprised how much we had improved. At the awards later i recieved a placqe for most improved section. Now that the Kingsmen have annouced the return of a jr. corps what are the thoughts out there?

Bloooooooooooo is on fire this season. Lets not forget when they beat BD early in the season. I believe they will peak to soon but we shall have to wait and see if this is the course this season i hope not.

well what i meant is i keep hearing on commericials and the nfl this season what sounds like blue devils 09 chart. Very brief samples it is not the blue devils but what they played last year. I dunno maybe its just me.

Has anyone noticed that there were samples of bd 2009 chart on commercials lately and i also noticed it on the nfl this season.

I recall in the 70s going to midwest prelims at whitewater and taking my old school panasonic cassette tape recorder with me and record audio of the shows and nothing was said back then my mother still has the tapes. of course at the time this was not perceived as stealing but time changes everything.

In my rookie year with the capitol chargers we were at a show in streator i believe and the des plaines vangaurd were on the field and i remember asking one of the staff why the were like laying on the field and such acting out west side story which at the time was unheard of the staff member told me they were trying something new in drum corps with mixed results. still a strong memorie all these years later.

I think hands down 76 bd is still one of the greatest shows ever. of course 75 madison was awesome as well but bd just blew everything away in 76 for the whole decade and this is coming from a Kingsmen!
