  1. I think I agree with you on Crown on this years show (side note: Diego's Goodbye is the reason I decided to march with them in 2002). It's obvious they've got the talent this year, but I'm still not getting the right vibes with this show. It took a while for me to get with last year's program, but once I understood it, I absolutely loved it. I just hope the same thing happens this year. I don't think they're trying to be weird for the sake of being weird though. The "Second Chance" theme is becoming more apparent to me in every part of the show. With the exception of all the body movements, and those gold horns.... But I guess with the sound they put out, the horns can be any color they want!
  2. Ohhhhh DCImonkey, you pretty much said exactly what I was thinking, but better! THANK YOU!
  3. Awesome review, thanks!! Also concerning Crown's show, I can definitely see the Wizard of Oz theme, but technically they were going more for Jack and the Beanstalk, just FYI. And I too really liked Phantom's show this year...I hope we see them back at least in the top six in 2010.
  4. Crown has proven that they are a top 3 corps - for 2009. Based on how they've been climbing the ranks consistently since 2003 goes to show that they have their act together and most likely will stay at least in the top 4-5. Then again, as many corps know first-hand (Phantom this year, even 2002 Crown), it only takes one show to change all that. Here's hoping they continue their trend!! GOLD in 2010!!
  5. You fell asleep during Boston's show?? Man, that takes talent!
  6. I've loved Crown's encores the last few years. They show off a lot of personality and just have fun. Like last year, starting out with Jump, then Earth, Wind and Fire, followed later by Deck the Halls - in 7/8. Very entertaining!
  7. I dont think any changes to the staff (faculty ) need to be made at Crown. And I wouldn't exactly say that their visual program is "struggling." While its not perfect, its still pretty freakin' good! The more difficulty the program has, the harder it will be to march clean (sound familiar HNC fans?), and therefore more dirt. Drum corps 101. I'm just excited that they're in medal contention this year! No matter what happens tonight, all eyes will be on Crown next year to continue their climb in DCI.
  8. Soooooooo....are you gonna review the top 5? It's a great review so far!
  9. WAHOO!!! Getcha some, Crown! These next two nights are gonna ROCK.
