  1. Someone I know told me the vet retention was VERY high as compared to the last few years, really looking forward to a show announcement.
  2. I haven't participated yet (working many hours right now to save up for next year), but it's safe to say seeing the Bluecoats rehearse in town in 2009 is what REALLY sparked my musical passion and is ultimately what made me want to be a music education major. I enjoyed marching band/concert band before, but that made me dream of doing something or creating something like that some day. God knows what I'd be doing if I wasn't a music major right now.
  3. After seeing who's participating in the first round of Drumline Battle, actually really excited to see where this goes! A group from Indonesia, how's that not cool?
  4. There's a video on youtube, I won't post it since I don't know if they want it out or not, but this is sounding like the closer last year, but the whole show. Opening statement = screamer awesomeness, ballad is gorgeous and in your face, this sounds like something they would have done in the 90s.
  5. Crossmen Announce 2013 Production: Protest “To sin by silence, when they should protest, makes cowards of men.” - Abraham Lincoln Crossmen Productions, Inc. is pleased to announce its 2013 program entitled, Protest. The program will take the audience on a journey through the years, as people have assembled to let their voices be heard for what they believed in. Through the actions of many, Americans have ensured the liberties our Founding Fathers had envisioned for the nation. When asked about the 2013 program, Executive Director Fred Morrison said, “This program will be reflective of those American ideals and those people that had the courage to stand up for what they believed in.” Crossmen Program Coordinator Ed Devlin added, “Although the program will touch on several defining moments that changed the course of history, the program is more about engaging the audience with its theme and making the audience reflect on its own beliefs, regarding the power of assembly.” In the words of one of America's greatest activists, Dr. Martin Luther King: “We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy.” Musical Selections will be taken from the following: The Prophet’s Song – Queen She’s Too Good For Me – Sting The Sound of Silence – Simon & Garfunkel They Don’t Care About Us – Michael Jackson Some Nights – Fun. We Shall Overcome – Pete Seeger Goodbye Blue Sky – Pink Floyd Find The Cost Of Freedom - Crosby, Stills, & Nash As Crossmen take the field for their 39th season, we ask everyone to reflect on this simple question, “What do YOU stand for?”
  6. I always love your posts, such an awesome guy!
  7. When I saw "Open Letter" in the title, I sighed expecting something like the ones I read during the summer. BUT, this is VERY well worded, well thought out, and right to the point without being too overly done. Totally agree with your standpoint on this! Well said!
  8. Agreed, that show is a pure classic, probably their most famous, and I don't think it should be messed with, as cool as it would be.
  9. I know the scores and placements mean practically nothing when it comes down to it, but I'm giving everyone outside the idiotic G7 thing extra support in 2013, especially to someone who gets bigger crowd responses than just about all of them! Can't wait to see what Madison brings in 2013! Keep moving up!
  10. Based on? Not doubting them, just wondering what you've heard/seen/know that makes you think this. Share!
  11. What exactly are their demands for DCI? Take over the BOD? Or is there more?
  12. I really hope Boston keeps moving up, it would be hilarious!
  13. (That was from my phone, sorry bout the typos)
  14. #### this. Whatever LITTLE respect I had for him is gone. Thats all I have to say. Never liked him, never will. What I find ironic is that the times this has come into discussion one of the G7 aced out of the top 8 tbe previous summer. Just do not understand why....
  15. I don't know how hard the books are, but Phantoms 89 - 96 shows (I'm sure you know these Boo :winky:/> ) always impressed me with the clarity in their articulation, when they play like that, you can feel it stab you in the chest, kinda like when a snare lines roll will lock, it just pops so much more than a bunch of dirty players. You can tell EXACTLY what they're playing.
  16. Are you going to force them to watch Honey Boo Boo on TLC? And if you don't know what that is......good for you. You are one of the lucky ones.
  17. Funny thing about music, it can be stupid hard in so many different ways. I can always catch the insane runs and high stuff, but I know it goes way farther than that. I can kinda catch the other stuff (maybe after I get more into music theory?), just not as well I guess. It's like that in keyboard playing as well, chorale type stuff can be just as hard as insane keyboard runs, just in a different sense, right?
  18. I always love to expand my knowledge of hornlines in general, so in your opinion, what are some of the toughest hornline shows you've heard played on the field?
  19. He's listed on their staff: http://colts.org/staff.asp Sounds like he had an...interesting experience with the Crossmen.
  20. :C Really hope they can get back on their feet.
