  1. Give me a break....really? This exact same debate came up on the DCA side of things last year when the Hurricanes used flags that resembled the Great Britain flag. Ill say the same thing I said there... It is a REPRESENTATION of a flag, not an actual flag. Think of the 4th of July here in the states... We make napkins that REPRESENT the US flag and we wipe our dirty faces and hands with them. We make cups, bikinis, door mats, towels, mini flags kids drop on the ground, flip flops, hats, etc... they all REPRESENT the flag but are not the actual flag. I dont see people getting all up in arms about that. Same thing can be said about SCVs guard flags that resemble the French flag. Get over it.
  2. With the 2.05 jump on the 31st and that score only being 1.85 behind 12th place (a score which is 2 days newer), can the Colts make a push into finals? I think that score was a tad high looking at the rest of the scores from other shows that day but who knows. I dont think they will actually make it in but they are a knockin! Id love to see them back. It is a fun show and I like it more than others currently in the top 12.
  3. I dont think the White Sabers will score above Fusion. If they do, it wont be by more than 2 points. Fusion hasnt had a score in 2.5 weeks... I bet they go up more than 2.65
  4. As I see it: The corps to beat decides to design a show that probably isnt achievable... potentially forfeiting the title because they decided to design above whats doable with a DCA schedule. I see it now... "(insert corps name) only won in 2013 because the Bucs designed a harder show"
  5. So if another corps wins, its because the Bucs didnt really "try".
  6. Does it honestly matter? They have the most enjoyable show in the top 5... thats all that should matter.
  7. 1. Bucs 87.85 2. MBI 86.30 3. C2 83.90 4. Sun 77.00 5. Bush 76.85 -------- 1. Sabers 77.70 2. Shenandoah 64.50
  8. Our definitions of "holds up" are different. Id say being in 3rd by .65 after a week off is considered holding up.
  9. Thats why I dont get the hype of this. Bucs week older score still holds up against the other scores. Same with Minnesota... 3 week old (dci) score and they are holding 6th. Downingtown will put Bucs a solid 1.5 ahead of MB and those 2 scores will be 2-4 ahead of Cabs/Empires current scores.
  10. When I first saw Crown, I thought this show had the potential to peak. They came out so strong. If they make some changes and the percussion gets their act together, they can pull it off. BD is BD. The show is cleaning up and its starting to grow on people. Myself included. Cadets are not out of this convo but I suspect they wont pull it off this year. SCV had a new ending (which I love) and are getting better. Still have some major issues with getting the drill clean.
  11. I think its safe to say Bucs will be back on top after Downingtown. Empire and Cabs wont be getting scores and MB always places rather low compared to Bucs on these mid season trips. Bucs have early season success and it seems MB is always a late season bloomer. I agree it will be a much closer fight at the top this year.
  12. Not sure if anyone said this but it looks like a lot of corps are paired into groups of 2... some I dont agree with. Crown, BD Phantom, Coats Scouts, Cavies Crossmen, Troopers PC, Colts OC, Mandarins
  13. I meant the corps as a whole, not the hornline. Just misinterpreted what the poster meant.
  14. Even though I dont like all the shows, it being this close is awesome. Runaway corps make it no fun!
  15. Its like the Colts are the red headed stepchild of DCI. Nobody seems to talk about them, they are just kind of there and people give off the vibe of "its just the Colts." Sad really. Part of it is because their show designs the last several years have been... nothing memorable. For the most part I do like the show this year, much better than the last few. I honestly thought after the Bentonville show that they could beat Crossmen and its still very much a possibility. I dont however see them going anywhere higher than 14th. They will finish 14th or 15th this year unless they make some major improvements to the music captions. They took a step in the right direction this year, IMO but not enough to make people turn their heads.
  16. Likely but cant say for sure until after finals.
  17. Love the Bluecoats, just not this years show. Dont like the show = no hype.
  18. I would say Downingtown is a no brainer too, with the exception of Bush and Sun. The two top dogs will be head to head for the first time but we know how that always turns out mid season.
  19. One day, Id like scores to be announced as the difference between the corps score and 100 so that the corps with the lowest score wins.
  20. Looks great! I think uniforms that are mostly black are the best looking. The tail will be neat to see as well.
