I get that but like Kyle B said, its worded... poorly. I see "badly needed" as current uniforms are falling apart and are beyond repair. If the corps sees that dropping $$$ to replace perfectly good uniforms is in the budget and fundraising efforts, more power to them. Just dont try to play the pity card.

Wait, so you just got new uniforms 4 years ago and now want to go BACK to the old style ones? and to quote the campaign page: "proceeds will be spent on new (badly needed) uniforms" How can that be after only a few seasons?

There are more chances for DCA corps to do DCI shows in the northeast but they dont really do them. There are enough DCA shows in the northeast so they dont need to worry about attending DCI sanctioned shows. Midwest has a handful that would probably be doable for govies, kilties, MBI. I recall last year that there was a weeknight show in Minnesota or Wisconsin that they had to do just to get performance opportunities. West coast has a few worth traveling to, I think.

Agreed. I dont think it will be a member thing, just a design thing. I doubt they will worry about designing for the judges but more to the fans as a thank you and something special for them. If that happens to lead to a championship or at least a high finish, that would be cool to see.

I dont think it will be Empire, I think they are going to go out having fun and could care less about placement. Cabs will be one to look out for. They have momentum on their side. Bucs are an obvious choice. Cadets2 learned from last year and Im sure they will design more around DCA for this season. MBI won in 11 and didnt defend in 12. I bet that left a bad taste in their mouths. No matter who comes out ahead, it should be another very competitive year!

Just seems odd that with finals back in Rochester in 2014, they would still decide to stop. I get its only 2 shows and the rest are father away but still. If its travel issues, they really should talk to MBI. If they can make 2 BIG trips every season, you would think Empire could figure out how to make 2-3 mild ones. If thats the reason.

Im not going to even worry about this until 2014. Who knows how many corps with come out with amps the first year and who knows just how much of a competitive edge they will give.

I get your point about amps and agree on that aspect but isnt there already a limit? Not actually numbers wise but room in the pit box. They already cram in there pretty tight. I dont think you need to worry about them getting bigger.

As stated, they are not all the same. But the size is needed either way. Just 2-3 keyboards trying to play with a 50-60 member hornline? Not gonna work.

Electronics the reason Empire is leaving? Doubt it. If anything, they would be one of the corps to benefit from them.

To give more musicality? So you can here them better? To give more people the chance to "march"?

So is this speculation that the people in charge no longer want to be in charge? Or is that fact? I can see just ending it while the corps is still strong and not letting it fizzle away. Go out with a bang. Either way, this is very sad news.

It is just the pit, not like we are going to have electric guitars and crazy sounds coming through them. At least not yet. If you dont like it.... get your fill of DCA in 2013. Thats my advice.
