  1. I wasn't aware that I was coming off as classless, but I guess that's my own downfall of sorts. I just don't see this years edition in 9th place but I guess thats where it's going to end up.
  2. Oh two whole minuses now huh?? I feel sad for my detractors since this Scouts show is so great!
  3. Don't be a sore in the side of the current members of the corps. Who cares where they end up. The show they have busted their ### off to perform this year is fantastic. Stop giving life to the dci goons who say they aren't performing as well as they really are.
  4. Good to see I have a fan who likes to shed a minus on all my posts. Minus me all you want. I am a Madison Scout and I couldn't care less.
  5. Hah, I'm so glad that I would actually fetch a minus on my post. Whoever gave me that minus, I feel sorry for you, because you honestly can't appreciate an amazing Drum Corps when one pours it's heart out for you!
  6. Scouts in 9th now. Really?...Really?!
  7. I heard about it my senior year of highschool. The director of my college marching band was a Madison alum as well as one of the trumpet section leaders. The first show I saw live was in Columbia, MO in 2007 and I was hooked.
  8. We had a couple guys wearing them when I was marching. I myself wore contacts because I can't stand not having the level of peripheral vision that contacts allow vs. my glasses.
  9. I thoroughly enjoyed helping with emptying the kegs of Spotted Cow.
  10. There's no better cure for those of us that marched in those times than to see how quickly the corps has recovered. I'll never forget the sheer pride I felt sitting in the cheap (free; thanks DCI) seats during the 2010 finals as the Scouts marched onto the field.
  11. There's some good thick grass there. Any problems with the fields in East Troy are easily overshadowed by the swarms of mosquitoes.
  12. How are the Blue Knights over a point ahead of Madison...that just doesn't make any sense to me after it was 2 tenths yesterday.
  13. That was their performance of the year so far IMO. Wow....great job brothers! I don't think there is another Corps tonight that will bring em' to their feet as early as you did.
  14. Mine has a few times...hitting pause and then live usually jumps it pretty quick.
  15. Man, I love Crossmen's sound this year.
  16. It's good to see parents of Scouts buying into the attitude of the Corps. Of course scores are important in this activity but it is by no means the only way to judge how "successful" a corps is in that year. If you spend the entire summer only worrying about your placement your going to miss out on a lot of things that make this activity and being a Madison Scout so great. I was a part of probably the lowest scoring Madison Scouts shows when connecting to the crowd was the only victory we had on the field but 5-10-15 years later the only things that really matter are the brothers I made along the way and the fact that I know each and every day we worked as hard as we could to do the best with what had been given to us. It's not going to matter what they score at the end of the year or what placement they have because people are going to remember this show. I couldn't care less at this point where they end up because I am extremely proud with the way this Drum Corps has recovered over the last two years.
  17. Same for when I was there as well. Most of the time rehearsals were pretty serious but every few days or so the staff would always relax and ham it up a bit whenever things were getting so serious that your focus starts to get lost.
  18. BAC's drumline and entire Corps has been very solid once they grew into their show. I would be hard pressed to say that beating Madison is drums thus far was related to peer pressure and the status quo.
  19. I hear that. I remember a few retreats in 08' when we were still doing "ATB" and people would boo if Corps "x" beat us that night. I felt like it almost cheapens both organizations because as a marcher of that Corps, I knew what flaws we might have had in our show that caused us to score below that certain Corps and I would much rather have heard applause for our efforts while standing there than booing the efforts of members of the Corps that scored just ahead of us.
