  1. Way to go Bluecoats!!! I hope they keep their momentum--they looked so crisp tonight. Awesome night for all the shows--they will all just get better now.
  2. Any idea when Bluecoats will announce their music selections?
  3. I wonder if/when they will reveal their new uniform?
  4. Check out this fund raiser for Bluecoats. http://www.crowdrise.com/2013blooohelmetdrive/fundraiser/bluecoatsdrumandbugl I wonder when they will reveal the show, the new uniform and the new helmet.
  5. Bluecoats 2010 and 2011 2010 when the whole corps lay on the ground holding the guard as they leaned forward in Metropolis and 2011 when the entire corps edged the field and the one member came and did a back flip into the "Brave New World" and they proceeded into the opening Creep!
  6. Sorry here is the link http://bluedevils.org/programs/a/2013/repertoire.php
  7. WHat are everyone's thoughts on the Blue Devils Announcement for their show?
  8. I heard they sold the whole lot to a high school marching band--so no Bluecoats Halloween--but the band will look awesome.
  9. I have liked the change, but don't always think it looks as powerful at times or that noticeable. when do you think it doesn't work?
  10. Any Guesses of the show's theme? (serious or otherwise?)
  11. I am agreeing with all those who have mentioned Bluecoats--i felt they were amazing every time i heard them. (ANd their drum line was amazing as well)
  12. I was at all three nights and have to say the finals was amazing--even more moving to me was after awards all of Crown's brass and drums went over to congratulate Blue Devils--They stayed a long time and there were lots of hugs and high fives on both sides, a big mix of blue and cream uniforms. then The BD guard went to Crown's guard and congratulated them and then joined together for a long series of pictures. I liked both shows and I think sometimes as fans we have a different perspective of the competition aspect of it as we root for our favorites, but what i saw tonight was a lot of class on all sides, honoring the drive and comittment both corps embrace.
  13. Also consider giving a dollar or more to Jersey Surf--At Allentown they passed out all those free Banana Sticks which added to the show a great deal. i went right after the show and put in five bucks. Does anyone know if those sticks will be allowed at Indy?
  14. I wonder if this is the order of the prgram--if so I can kind of see the theme--start with a recognizable favorite like a POTO piece that people like/love/ and then move to the edgier, more modern pieces--that's been their vibe lately--"the future is Now" "Brave New World"--so to me it does not look like they are abandoning that look and sound they have been working on these past few years--And maybe if this is the order they will be "UnMasqued" by the end--from traditional to a more modern sensibility? I am excited to see how it will all come together--and wonder if they will keep up the whole dance moves the corps has been including lately as well?
  15. 2012--There will be something memorable this year, I am sure of it 2011--Creep, of course, and then how it comes back to that music at the end--Also loved backflip of one of the members as he entered the Brave New World. 2010-Metropolis--Opening with the color guard--Solo on Mic and the attitude of the player--amazing on the dvd--the slow section when the drums are lined up the 50 and the rest of the corps is on one half of the field The Fighter--After the amazing Brass section, the singing of the corps--(not part of a show but there is a clip of last year's corps singing Creep--very good) "Freeze, you have the right to remain silent!" A crowd pleaser every time. These are the most recent and first moments that come to mind
  16. That someone may know or heard a title of a piece the Bluecoats may be using certainly doesn't mean they now know or have "figured out" their show and how it will be presented. Especially with the Bluecoats!! who in my opinion meld concept and music that often transcends just the title of a piece they use as they try to bring a concept and a story together (I think of Creep and how the if you looked at the lyrics of the song it added to the whole concept of the show last year of the Horn line et al. finding themselves in a Brave New World inhabited by the Color Guard--"I don't belong here." are the main words from the song--and then by the end the same music Creep returns but in a major chord--they have integrated themselves into this new world --that's how i interpreted it at least) I feel the last few years The Bluecoats have been trying to find their place between presenting a narrative show :" the Fighter" and the concept show "IMagine, Metropolis" IMO last year's show came close to melding the two --story of the Musicians trying to find a place in the Brave New WOrld of the color guard-- So I believe just knowing a piece they are playing will certainly not reveal what they are up to. SO like others who said similar--I believe it is best to wait for the announcement, and even better wait for the show on a field--preferably more than once--it takes multiple viewings, thinking, hearing and watching to actually "get" a show and discover all the layers a show can have, which reflects a year or more's work on everyone's behalf. So i agree show some respect and wait--
  17. Most Powerful Opening: Bluecoats Most listened to show on CD: Phantom Regiment Most desired show to see again live to capture the summer back: Bluecoats Most anticipated arrival of a corps on the field: Madison
  18. It aired yesterday. Monday October 10th here in Ohio-do not think it was a rerun.
  19. Did anyone see that a 2008 member of Phantom Regiment was on Wheel of Fortune? He said he was a part of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps in 2008 when they won the Championship. He won 43,000.! Another Drum Corps member does well. Does anyone know who he was?
