  1. Staying at the Courtyard Marriott from Thurs-Sat! Thursday is lot night for us, then will be in the suites on Friday and Saturday
  2. People are always going to complain about who's in first no matter which corps it is! Yes, even Phantom Regiment!
  3. That makes me feel a little better. Haha I thought it was just some cool collection of letters that they added to the end of their corps name. Sounds cool either way!
  4. Wow! That is something I honestly never thought I'd hear. Great for them, though!
  5. Anyone looking for awesome, CONSTANT (haha) trumpet screaming is bound to love Madison 88.
  6. So we have some claiming: Madison 83 - E above Double C Madison 86 - Triple C Blue Devils 91 - Triple C
  7. Looks like the winner is ( I assume you are correct) Madison 83 for highest note.
  8. That's good to know. So even though only one person has responded so far , the general consensus is BD 2003. Sweet.
  9. I'm sure this has been answered (or I'm just clueless)..but can someone fill me in on what MMX stands for/means? Thanks in advance!
  10. One of my favorite "high-trumpet-note" parts of a show is definitely after the opener in Blue Devils 2004. Does anyone know what the highest trumpet note ever hit in DCI is? Just wondering now!
  11. Good topic. Maybe after 2010 Finals, you'll have another couple to add! 1996 - I must have been in 4th grade...had no idea about DCI (too bad...) 2002 - I saw my first drum corps show (Cavs 02) on video after Finals 2002, so I still wasn't 'in the know for the 02 Championships. Cadets 2005 - Oh yes. My first year at college, and had been following DCI and scores hardcore all summer. I was still pulling for The Cavaliers, but found out that Cadets had won and swept ALL captions... I was like NO!..and then saw their Finals performance...and was like YES! Phantom 2008 - I was at drum camp at school and had been keeping up with scores...watched Quarters on the DCI network, saw Phantom get 3rd, then 2nd, then 1st! An awesome surprise to such an electric crowd supporting them. And the reaction videos are insane! Blue Devils Undefeated season (2009) - Saw them warm up in Dallas 2009, but left for SCV. BD had a very good drumline, and a VERY clean snare solo at Finals. Again, I was at drum camp at college, and had a feeling BD would remain undefeated. And they still do to this day! You should add SCV 2004 winning percussion to this list, Ryan
  12. Agree, Cavaliers have the best shot, but I don't think they will catch BD. I can't wait to go to Finals, though. I've never been, and it's going to be so exciting no matter what happens! As far as the shows are concerned, this is the best year in DCI since 2004 (or maybe 2008), in my opinion!
  13. He was the announcer at Minneapolis this year and, from what I understand, will be announcing Finals 2010.
  14. Black pants all the way for me. I really don't know if it's the black, or the green, or what, but just watch Cavaliers 2003/2004....my god, looks so good.
  15. If I remember right, back in 2002, the Cavaliers were scoring around a 96 consistently with 2 weeks in the season left to go! Only somewhat relevant to this thread, but just some interesting information that will put some things in perspective.
  16. The Cavaliers definitely aren't "in trouble" anymore. Currently sitting in second place, they've come a long way from the 8th place they dropped to midway through the season. From the videos I've seen so far, their show is incredible. I'll be seeing them and the other 'Elite 8' corps in Murfreesboro this Friday, and I'm so pumped. But yes, they are in second, and are catching up to The Blue Devils quickly...THEY MIGHT WIN this year!
