  1. Heard the corps in Enfield last Sunday. I was very impressed with the sound you have with a small horn line! Good luck this season, and we will see you in Rochester!
  2. Don't most of the "World Class" corps have around 180 members with spare players? They all come from SOMEWHERE! The corps could do a much better job of recruiting in state or in tri-state areas and maybe this would NOT be a news item! Or am I being silly?
  3. I agree! This may create more interest in DCA from the left coast. I have wanted to see these guys for a while and now I can!
  4. I was just wondering what Alumni Corps have confirmed for the Alumni Spectacular in Rochester? Any announcement coming?
  5. This may already be SOMEWHERE in this massive thread (I keep trying to read it all but it is staggering) Could it be that maybe Mr Hopkins and or the powers that be in DCI have figured out that with the present economy, fuel prices, etc, that weekend only is the wave of the future? What goes around comes around!
  6. Could someone please give a review of the percussion ensembles? We would like some feedback. Thanks!
  7. I must agree with Mike, a great day! Any one have a review?
  8. Congrats to the Defenders for adding a great talent to their staff! I was fortunate enough to play with The Valley Airs Alumni for several years and it was a pleasure to be taught by Rick! Oh yah, his magazine, Masters of The Marching Arts ain't too shabby either!
  9. Listed with the exhibition corps is the Banzini Brothers. Pardon my lack of Drum Corps Knowledge but just who are they?
  10. This championship says "Buglers Hall Of Fame" but it also features 3 percussion ensembles! If you want to see some top notch drumming, get there by noon! You won't be disappointed!
  11. Looking forward to a great night of percussion and corps music!
  12. UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS POST! The start time IS 1PM I was given incorrect info! Imagine that!
  13. Weather looks good, partly cloudy with temps in the high 30's. NO SNOW IN SIGHT! So, empty your bank account and fill up the car with gas and head to Boston! This show is not to be missed!
  14. If you want to see lots of corps parading, then you need to go to Holyoke on Sunday. 6 DCA corps Cabs Fusion Sunrisers Bushwackers Hurricanes Excelsior 1 DCI corps 7th Regiment One independant corps St Peters And of course, The Melha Shriner Drum Corps. Is that enough for ya?
  15. The show schedule has been posted on the Buglers Hall of Fame site. http://www.buglershalloffame.com A very impressive who's who of drum corps people and corps! One important note: THE START TIME IS LISTED AS 1PM, IT IS ACTUALLY 12PM! This will allow for more time between performers. See you Saturday at noon!
  16. And FREE PARKING! For anyone who has ever driven to a Red Sox game, you KNOW how sweet that is!
  17. This is shaping up to be a HUGE show! Scheduled to appear in exhibition are: Boston Crusaders Senior Corps The Defenders Alumni The Muchacho's Alumni The Seldon Cadets Alumni The Connecticutt Alumni THE LEGENDS OF DRUM CORPS AND, Your host's The ST. Kevin Emerald Knights Senior Corps! WOW! All that for just $10 admission! And, as if that weren't enough, in addition to the I&E entries so far there will be at least 3 mini's in competition! These will be announced as soon as they are verified.
  18. Then there are The Marksmen of Western Mass and The Centurians of Enfield CT Alumni/all age
  19. Yes Richie was a very nice surprise, as I was told he could not make it! The only critique that I know of was on the score sheets which were passed out after the show. We do appreciate the kind words and hope that maybe next year The Crusaders will come and do an exhibition! Thank you for your support. Dan B Chairman, BHOF Springfield Regional
  20. Larry Good luck with the open house! Based on Your ensemble, you have a good corps group to begin with and it can only grow! Dan
