  1. OKAY DRUM CORPS PEOPLE... Let's play! First stadium you performed in: __Canton OH, 1985, no clue as to what stadium, don't think it was nfl hall of fame place, but a HS_______ Last stadium you performed in: ___Madison, WI 1987 Badger Stadium____ Best stadium you performed in: ___Busch Stadium 1986 STL, Hometown show 😉_____hot as hades that day, also really loved Whitewater WI Worst stadium you performed in: this wins by a landslide: the IL state fair standstill on the race track and the inspection, had to remove my earring, tuck in my mullet, and removed my gold mouthpiece (HA).....it was like being transported into the 1950's
  2. Hoping to get one of those for the STL show
  3. Thanks for sharing that video, very cool. Appreciated.
  4. Wow, I am very glad I was able to have the experience in the 80's that I did. My parents back then, nor I now, could afford that kind of tuition these days. Speechless. Hats off to those who are sacrificing on alot of levels to have this experience.
  5. I will say this sounds very promising......onward and upward! SUTA
  6. Be Phantom, but lose the singing..........asking for a friend. Thanks.
  7. Congrats to the corps for an improved year, lets keep it going in the right direction. Placement dropped again, but the show was better. Lets build on that and work our way back up. Onward and upward PR! SUTA
  8. Good job PR. Keep it up!!!! Finish Strong!!!! SUTA
  9. definitely a tight race for the last 2 finals spots between pr, crossmen, and soa tonight will be very very interesting........
  10. Given what has been happening the last few years, I'll gladly take 11th place..........i think i just threw up a little saying that as I never saw the day where PR expectations would be so low. BUT.......they are better than last few years......so we have that going for us.
  11. NIce going PR.....clipped Crossmen for first time this season, Keep it up to all the corps, staff, members, alums, etc.! Lets keep that finals streak alive! SUTA
  12. I was holding out hope for Black Knights, Marauders, Geneseo Knights, and the Coachmen.......but I may reconsider going.
  13. Its going to be nail biting until semi's for PR to remain in finals.........i can only hope they continue and improve. I just don't know if I can stomach PR dropping out. That would be a hard reality sammy to eat.
  14. well said........i enjoy it too. Glad to see them put on a decent show, much improved over the last two years.
  15. Agreed, 11-12 finish seems realistic, but encouraging given that the show is better........and hope they can start a climb back up to relevancy. Because right now they aren't. we've seen the ups and downs over the years, so in my opinion, just stay in finals and go from there. SUTA.
  16. Can only hope they go back to Lebanon or STL. This venue was bad news. Terrible parking, and you had to pay for parking on top, one way into the venue, tons of bugs, and rude staff in stands who wouldn't let my son back into our seats with no wristband.....this was horrible. I won't be back unless they change venues. I've been going to local show for 20 plus years, but i'll have to vote with dollars here.
  17. Ok, my quick take after seeing them live in STL They are better, much better than last two years.......i liked this show vs last couple which to me were very very lame and flat. . It had some nice impact moments. I didn't care for the Battle Cry singing, it was cringy. But this show is better, i was a proud alum..... That Bluecoats show is top level stuff. I will say that is one of the better shows i've seen in a long time.
  18. Man I hope 13th is not a reality, sad to say i'm in the camp where making finals is now the expectation. Which is downright sad.
  19. Never a fan of singing in drum corps, just not my thing.........if that is part of playing the game i get it, but don't care for it....its hokey. Now if you're talking a 3 second segment with the corps singing/humming together or something thats fine -in very very small doses. But still not my taste. Adding electronics or sound bites is cool if it enhances a show.
  20. So glad to hear they are improving and that the show is better and delivers, i am looking forward to seeing them sunday.......the last couple have just been duds emotionally and visually......cmon regiment, keep pushing and keep that finals streak alive......i believe!
  21. As an alum, I am just saddened by their recent drop..........seeing them last year was baaaaaad........no impact moments to me. And really the last few years as well. Its hard for me to watch them freefall, and go on so early in shows now. I credit the competition level and kudos to those corps who are doing well, but man.....no excuse for phantom to freefall. I hate to say it, but I fully expect them to miss finals. Just being realistic given what the board is saying and what i've seen over the last few years. Just disheartening.......
  22. Finish strong PR! Agreed, kids are doing the best they can.......hopefully board and staff realize a fresh approach is needed to breathe some life into PR as they continue to slide into boring territory. From a corps that used to present vital and awe inspiring music, they have fallen flat in recent years.
  23. Great thread........ My faves: Phantom Regiment...ding ding ding........that's the winner Sky Ryders 27th Lancers Boston Crusaders Santa Clara Vanguard Garfield Cadets
  24. Would love to see them pass BStars......not a fan of the bob the builder show at all. It did absolutely nothing for me. Mandarins show was great. Mandarins should be above both PR and BS. Just my two cents.
