I didn't mean the drill was not entertaining. I meant most shows as a whole product. Either way, you are right. It is only my opinion. However.it is an opinion shared by MANY! It's to the point that dci hired Michael cesario to slap some sense into some of these corps to not play BORING shows. Most people just want to hear awesome music and watch amazing drill. We don't need props, themes , amps, etc.

I hear this a lot. What does "hang'em high" mean? I hope it doesn't refer to the act of hanging someone from a tree??

Of course I don't mean ALL corps should be just in your face. However every year corps are just playing for the judges while most fans get sleepy and give a golf clap here and there. Drill gets better every decade but it is also becoming far less entertaining.This is fact, not opinion. Even DCI knows this so they appointed someone to try to change this. Anyways I dont want to go off topic. My point is that a story theme can sometimes be effective (phantom 08) ... Or not (cadets 08). This year colts have a clear theme but as a fan I find crossmen much more entertaining with their fun non story or artsy show. I would rather hear 4 entertaining songs that have nothing to do with each other , than 4 "ok" songs that happen to be related IMO

Why do shows have to be "about something" or have some sort of "story theme"?! This is why I love 80' corps shows. No stupid theme. Just raw powerful in your face drum corps!!

I'm not a BD hater. In fact, BD is my second favorite corps (mainly because of their 80's shows). However this past half decade or so, I just cant "get into" their shows. I thought 04 05 and 06 were.. meh. I wasn't a huge fan 08 and they made me scratch my head in 09 with the chairs. I over looked the chairs though because I really liked the music. 2010 new props... yeah, that's what drum corps fans love...props, geez. The music was terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, was it loud? Sure. Was it blended and in tune? yeah ok. But I want something I can ENJOY!!!! Now this year with MORE PROPS!!?? What the heck is going on with these guys? The music... well it's better than last year, which everyone is saying. Not much of a complement really. It's just comparing Elephant #### to dog ####. Are these guys trying to #### the fans or what? What are they trying to prove? That they can put garbage on the field and STILL win championships? Well... I'm sad to say, they are proving just that. Ughh... I can rant about BD for hours, but its not worth it. The BD members are some of the best performers in the world. Why can't they give these guys a great show to work with? Bring back the BD we all fell in love with!

He didn't call them zombies in a bad way. Anyways, the Academy and Crown have a really fan friendly show. Glassmen and BS... Not so much. That doesn't mean I (or anyone that agrees) dislike that corps as a whole. It just means Gmen and BS are not as strong as other years. While on the other hand, this could be both Crowns and Academys best year ever. So cut Boo some slack. I bet it's hard to blog about 23 corps and have it sound like they ALL have a championship show.
