  1. Wait. What have we been conversing about pre-post show in this thread?
  2. Another hi-cam perk. Ambient crowd chatter in lieu of the Flo loop and commercials.
  3. Sadly, I'm getting mostly bass guitar. I imagine it's more balanced live.
  4. Ames Field as a baseball stadium was not ideal for drum corps, but it sure provided some incredible opportunities for a local band nerd. Gail Royer giving me a ride from the housing site to the stadium, interviewing Don Warren for a senior project, watching the 27th Lancers from the dugout, the Glassmen horn arc wading into Lake Michigan....
  5. I was there. Grew up in MC. Started going to shows at Ames as an eight year old in the early 70's.
  6. Somewhere I have pics of DCI shows taken from the dugout at the old Ames Field with the infield and pitcher's mound.
  7. The stadium announcer SIR. TAN. LEE. E. NUN. SEE. EIGHTS. It's "Brandt Crocker Opposite Day."
  8. The existence of "far worse" threads/posts does not preclude other threads/posts from being "exhausting."
  9. I used the FloSports app on Fire TV via WiFi (Comcast) and had zero issues all summer. First time I made it through the summer without the ethernet cable.
  10. If a judge suggested Boston drums had a few too many rim shots, would they be hypocritical if they cut some?
  11. I agree. "Reality leaves a lot to the imagination." - John Lennon
  12. Do trombone players have to use those long twisty animal ballons?
  13. Copied post by @oldbandguy from another thread: For the fourth consecutive year the Bluecoats will be rehearsing at Newark High School prior to beginning the final leg of their tour. The evening rehearsal block is open to the public. The block will run from 7:30-9:30 followed by a full run of their show "The Bluecoats" and some encore selections. The admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. The proceeds will be split between the corps and the Pride of Newark band. The Bluecoats merchandise stand will be open and the band boosters will operate a food/drink concession stand. White Field is located at the corner of 11th and Church Streets. Parking is in the lot off Church Street just west of the stadium. The corps will NOT be in uniform. As with any outdoor performance the weather could impact the schedule for this event.
  14. It'd be weird to play a bunch of fast notes really slow.
  15. When they yell "they're always ready" after a delay.
  16. I wouldn't have felt very clever had they won the $1000, but it would have been worth it. They actually were very polite and apologized. Talked with them a bit more shows.
  17. I had a small talkative group of high schoolers sitting behind me in Lisle. Between performances I told them I'd give them half my 50/50 raffle tickets if they could correctly answer a show related question. The question: "True or false? It's inconsiderate to talk during a show." Surprisingly, it worked.
  18. I don't dislike the show, but there are several times I lose interest in the music and the visuals during those moments aren't enough to keep me fully engaged.
