  1. That and now I've fallen into the trap where instead of feeling satisfied (I will never be satisfied....) I want more.
  2. Try that second link? Still takes me to my own video editor.... I'm so confused
  3. anyone have a video they want to share privately? We'd be best friends forever!
  4. Just saw some sheet music excerpts from the show. This show is going to groove so hard and many babies will be thrown.
  5. Looks like Derek Gipson, Bluecoats Brass Caption Head, has moved to the UK with his fiancee. Does this mean he is leaving the corps? If so, that would be a disappointing loss for the corps.
  6. Cadets are hiring a monkey with fetal alcohol syndrome to design their shows....oh, wait....
  7. I predict Crown will be the crowd favorite (again), the brass staff will return to an amazing hornline, the percussion staff will continue to develop a possibly elite drumline (I always thought The People's Front Ensemble was smokin' hot) and of course the color guard will assert their dominance over the field. As for the show? I have not a clue. They swept me off my feet with Inferno and fielded my favorite piece of music ever, Symphony No. 9. Maybe next year they can field my favorite band piece, Lincolnshire Posy. If anyone should do it, it is them. Scores be ######, this corps is the true People's Champ.
  8. What the Hell? (I capitalized it so its a pun and ok, right?) What malfunction last night? During the first banner the MM aren't moving in any orderly fashion. You just sound miserable.
  9. I'm the same way this year. I've been every year since 2010 and this year I won't be going. I am devastated.
  10. Freaking love that Organ Symphony. Needs more organ during the percussion portion though.
  11. Some quick thoughts: Phantom: Still disappointed for most of the show. I do love the closer. I especially loved the kneel kick at the end. Blue Knights: Another cerebral show that was very well done. I like this continued direction and look forward to next years treats. Cavaliers: saw them in Akron as well and it hasn't grown much for me. Some parts I like more but as a whole it's a forgettable show. Cadets: I like the black uniforms and I think the cadets should make them official from now on. The cummerbund should be neon. But as a whole this show is not my thing. I think it's a perfect example of No one around Hop telling him no. The George Lucas of DCI. Carolina Crown: pure bliss. Incredible hot line (low brass need to calm the eff down going into the ballad impact so the notes don't begin to come apart) and fantastic guard. I really hope they pull off the win. Santa Clara Vanguard: what a show. I LOVE pure imagination. The lighting effects at the end were incredibly cool. I wasn't sold when I heard about them but they made me a believer. The show is surprisingly scoring low and it saddens me. Bluecoats: YES! Make that push! This is such an innovative show that is finally earning it's due. They were on fire and I can't wait to see them keep on the gas pedal through Saturday. This is one of my favorite events of the season and this year kept that up.
  12. The judge is in the press box correct? The only two judges on the field I thought were Percussion and Brass.
  13. You may drive me bonkers 90% of the time but as someone who takes contextual accuracy very seriously I completely agree with you.
  14. Late to the post but I was left bawling during Genesis' Music of the Night push. As a fan not old enough to witness 89 Vanguard live I have waited my whole life for that moment.
  15. What a phenomenal opening impact. This hornline has matured greatly these past couple of years.
  16. I completely agree. This is a music city unlike I've ever seen before.
  17. Great production AS ALWAYS from Music City. Im loving the intensity.
  18. Bravo hornline in overcoming such obstacles in the ballad. Truly inspiring.
