  1. I may or may not remember an MM in my own family being so inebriated at the age out ceremony after semis that he/she almost fell down several rows of seats while attempting to catch whatever object the age outs were tossing about. Beach ball? Can't remember. From afar, I prayed for his/her safety. To this day I don't know how he/she made it onto the field.
  2. This was the point I was going to make but you beat me to it. It is so true. Go to ANY play at any performance level and you see very creative prop management handled, at least partially, by actors. Personally, it doesn't bother me in drum corps. Do I notice it sometimes? Yeah. But I just consider it part of the show. Since drum corps performances have become so theatrical, scene changes are required - and are yet another example of the steady evolution of the activity. I actually enjoy the creativity behind how the scene changes are designed and executed.
  3. I agree with this 100%. Fun little nuances and details just really make this show pop.
  4. Oh no! The bathtub lady! I hope the dancer has a quick recovery. Fingers crossed for OC to find a replacement. The show is REALLY starting to take off.
  5. I love that act. I'll look for the DM next time!!!
  6. I have NBA season tickets and I see the SAME thing (and want to ask them the same thing). It happens in all venues. Only NBA tix cost WAY more than drum corps tix.
  7. This show is getting SO FREAKING GOOD. I used sing a lot of jazz when I was in college. Going on tour as part of "Studio 44" would have been a bucket-list kind of gig. I guarantee that gal is having the time of her life. Singers just don't get to do stuff like this!
  8. This show is growing on me. As per usual Crown, they are really starting to perform the heck out of it. I have an "Out of Africa" event to attend in the coming weeks. What a hit I'd be if I walked into the room rolling one of those fang/tooth props!
  9. I've only seen that show once. I'll have a look later. :) But with Cadet's theme being unity and all... I like the different vignettes the vocalists are involved in.
  10. The way the vocalists are integrated into the show is perfect considering the theme. Best use of vocals yet in a drum corps show IMO.
  11. Yes! The DM talked about what it's like to be hobnobbing with the big kids now. She talked about how the members carry themselves differently and what a huge change has occurred since she first joined in 2014.
  12. About BK's show: I love the music beginning to end. The visuals are developing. Nice run, BK. As usual, their show is growing on me. (This happens every year with this corps!)
  13. I have to agree. They really hit on all cylinders this year.
  14. I vote PC's show as the most charming of the field. I saw it at Drums of Fire but I wish I could see it live again. It's come a long way since then and I liked it then!
  15. My first read of that too. I didn't realize it was the logo until today. Nice!!!
  16. I thought the same! That is Timberline Lodge for sure. Hadn't noticed it before either.
  17. I'm really wanting that turn and hit to get people on their feet. And then they could read the 237 better!
  18. I thought the same. They've had a lot of days to clean in the past week. Smart scheduling?
