  1. I see what you did there...a slap at G7?Myself...I like your prediction.
  2. Okay...fair enough. I guess it could be that they are comfortable taking the point penalty to get their desired effect. I suppose we'll find out today when we see if they keep the powder or not.
  3. About PR... This was my first time seeing their show. My son told me that one of PR's screening qualifications for their brass line includes height...and it does appear that their members are all about the same size. I don't know if that's true, but I remarked to my son that the all-girl guard appeared to be made up of a bunch of clones. I don't have any problem with either thing. It made for a very good show...and I was relieved to see that someone died. (the evil queen) I was beginning to worry this year. About Cadets... Also my first time seeing their show. I liked their show. I'll be watching the dvd more than a few times because I feel like I missed a whole bunch of subtle side-by-side nuances in the theater show. What I want to see the top 6 to look like after finals: Blue Devils Cadets Carolina Crown Santa Cara Vanguard Bluecoats Phantom Regiment ps...I also want to see Blue Knights upset more than one of the other three Corps in their grouping. (I realize that I won't get what I want)
  4. After an awesome 6th place performance by BK's guard and a boneheaded decision by BAC's staff, Blue Knights moved ahead of Boston. I don't think we've seen the last of the improvements both Corps have in store for the next two performances. Where these two class acts end up...we'll have to wait for finals to see. I loved both of their shows. ps...can any of the experienced judges tell me if wardrobe malfunctions play into the scoring? Before Boston's clothing change, many of the brass line members had red showing on their arms. It appeared to me that their tops were kind of coming undone.
  5. I think it is possible that 1-10 all break 90 this year.
  6. I wouldn't count Scouts out yet. I think 7-10 is totally up for grabs right now. It's pretty ###### tight in that group.
  7. Wow...even if they end up in 10th again...I think it's quite possible for BK to break 90 by Finals. That means there is some hellacious competition this year.
  8. Scores from DCI.org World Class 1 Santa Clara Vanguard 92.550 2 Blue Knights 86.950 3 Spirit of Atlanta 84.000 4 Blue Stars 82.950 5 Troopers 79.950 6 Oregon Crusaders 76.100 7 The Academy 75.800 Open Class 1 Vanguard Cadets 86.200
  9. I predicted some time ago that Boston would surge to the area of BK and Cavies. That has happened. I also predicted that there will be some leap-frog action between BK and Boston...with Cavies in the mix, maybe. That hasn't happened yet, but I'm not counting BK out yet. I think it is still possible for BK to take 8th.
  10. Wow!! Who needs the G7 when you have a line up like this show? If I had a choice between going to a TOC show and Huntsville, my money would be going to Huntsville!!
  11. I've only been watching drum corps for two seasons. Last year I devoured everything I could find on youtube before my first ever drum corps show in Denver...which, unfortunately, was messed over because of rain. Because of that rain, I made a spur of the moment decision to drive to San Antonio for the regional. Great decision because I got to see ALL of the corps. This year, I've stayed away from youtube...I saw BK's send off show...saw some great performances in Denver...and that's it. I plan on buying the DVD of the top 12, so that will be the only time I get to see all the shows. I'm satisfied with that.
  12. I don't use this as my wallpaper, but as the background on my Opera Speed Dial.
  13. I had to answer the poll in favor of Cavies. Not because I think they should beat BK in Atlanta, but because I think the judges will place Cavies over BK. In respect to BAC, I said early on that I think Boston and BK will fight it out for a spot...that Boston will surge. I haven't seen the surge yet, but they can still do it. If they do, it'll make for one of the more interesting groupings in all of Finals, IMO. Cavies, Boston and BK. (Madison will be a bit higher with Bluecoats and PR)
  14. Okay...BK leap-frogged Cavies. Cool!! Whether BK can stay ahead is another question. Maybe they can...maybe Cavies will leap-frog BK. I don't think it'll happen, but it would be nice if BK were to start leap-frogging Scouts.
  15. From what I remember of BK's show...nobody will fall asleep during it.
  16. please keep it up. Except, lighten up on the hometown Crossmen honks, eh? LOL!!
  17. I don't care too much for the Cowboys...I live in Colorado, after all...but if they are sponsoring this show, then I tip my hat to them.
  18. Okay. I want to see BK leap-frog Cavies tonight and stay ahead of them going into the weekend show in Atlanta.
  19. I apologize, Tricia. I never intended to cause a brouhaha in this thread. Sometimes I just open my big mouth. I'll reply to you in a PM.
  20. There are some who would say that the "huge staff member" was part of their problem.
  21. After last night's show in OK, I'm hoping BK has established that they are serious competition for Cavaliers. Does anyone have any thoughts about any effects the order of competition might have...with BK, then the big four and THEN Cavaliers? Will this hurt or help BK? Cavaliers?
  22. I saw them in Denver along with Troopers, and I have to say that, while I love the Trooper's music and some of their visual moments, BK...even then...performed better. I was especially impressed by the quality of their circles and curves. (and they have a LOT of circles and curves)
  23. BK temporarily part of the G7? http://www.drumcorps...stats-captions/
