What amazes me is how open their tone is, you almost forget how high they are playing. It doesn't feel like a "Lets put scremers in here for the sake of it", its more like "Lets use one more octave to really expand our palate in musical writing"

Well any time you "log in via google" you are granting it permission to access some part of your account, not just on your phone. But, fair enough. However, on the subject of money motivations, I will note that while people would pay good money for data, it is pennies on what niantic has to gain from being a regularly opened app. Tarnishing their reputation by doing something that sketchy would make the company hated and have a huge net negative impact fiscally. And yes, people would know if they did that. Very quickly. Besides, as cappybara already said, google is already selling your information :P

I would bet good money that you have given full scope to other applications :P Nah, the amount of effort for them to get anything useful from your email is staggering. Its not like all your emails are suddenly on their servers. They have to actively write code to access the data, and more importantly, they have to STORE all the data, which is decently costly. I can't imagine a single person would go through the effort, and even if they did, they would be caught by all the other employees there as soon as the code went to review. In other words, you can be less cynical haha

Also, maybe this will be a lesson in reviewing account permissions. I'd rather it come from a company making a mistake than one actually trying to get the information! (Although its mute, since I do all my important stuff on a different email account)

Already fixed in the most recent update, it now has only the basic account access scope.

I've wondered this a lot also. I think there is a tendency to use BD as the gold standard, so the most times you prove you can compete with them or beat them, the better chance you will be seen as higher or equal. I guess that falls into believing in slotting though.

I actually could picture something pretty cool with this. channel3 wasn't wrong with bringing the girl into the ending. I picture it where he dodges the bullet, disarms the guy and pistol whips him, then he and the girl tie him up and kick him off the top of the stage coach (put a matress on the other side of the coach, or have some guard members catch him), then have the girl and guy ride off together into the sunset, his arm over her shoulder... Then use a banner a la 2015 and cover the corps with a giant black "The End" in a nice western font.

I think cavies were cleaner. SCV had a lot of phasing issues and the last movement was visually dirty. They have a ton of room for growth!
