The Progression of Performance Art in DCI

No, it really isn't. Unless you make a difference in DCI what with your unquotable frequent conversations and all. -
Depravity.

The Inevitable "fill in the blank"
CCorps replied to Baripowaa's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
If I were to believe Stu, it's very likely that shows filled with the depravity of performance art (a la the highly depraved Dada show) will become more and more likely and culminate in Lady Gaga vomiting on children. Because, you know, logic and stuff. -
The Progression of Performance Art in DCI
CCorps replied to Stu's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
This thread needs to be locked. It has literally nothing to do with World Class drum corps except that Stu has said the words "drum corps" several times. -
Compared to today's sleek, athletic, dynamic lines? The hair, the cymbals marking time while doing circles with their arms, the tympani thumping away? Nerdy. The uniforms and hair alone make it nerdy. Show a random person on the street this and any modern drumline and I promise this is more nerdy. Top Secret has a coolness factor in their uniforms and the swiftness of their movements. It's ALL nerdy but it's so much less nerdy than this. I wouldn't even compare the two, for one because SCV is playing clean notes with better quality.

See here's what I don't get about the people complaining that drum corps has become nerdy and bando with all the recent changes... This, while awesome, is sooooooo nerdy it hurts.

This is the most ridiculous thread ever. Stu has jumped VK's shark! -

The only way people should be responding to Stu's claims is to be ironic. Can we all agree this is totally off the deep end? -

A "Tradition Corps"? What do you think?

Good morning! I brought some bagels and donuts!
CCorps replied to alumniof's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
He'll film people eating the new bagels. Strangely, most of them seem to be silent. No one erupts into a standing O after the first bite! Well, Traditions will change that! -

I talked to everyone at Allentown and they clearly hated these new bagels. THAT'S REALITY. In fact, one time my significant other and I both parked outside of a grocery store and made fun of the GEEKS who came out with bagels in their carts. However, what about this: What if a store was opened that only sold handmade bagels. We'd hire all those rejected from the fancy bagel factories and sure, our bagels wouldn't be nearly as good but they'd really appeal to those out there that want the old kinds of bagels. We'd call it "Traditions Bagel Company." -
Yes. We know.

Could Bugle Corps ever exist again?

It's like you have a basic understanding of how logic works. And then you apply it to the most ludicrous situations. I completely agree that visual is an absolutely necessary component. In fact, I don't think anyone is disagreeing with you in that regard. But your logic leaves me scratching my head.
