  1. This'll be the end of drum corps for sure! :P
  2. Maybe the other guys aren't finished yet either? Wouldn't be surprising.
  3. So it looks like there will be something different from the maroon backs.
  4. Either way, thanks for the link (since I got it before you edited) ^OO^ ^OO^ ^OO^ I knew I stayed up watching Batman Returns for a reason :P
  5. I was unaware that people could make such judgements about an entire show by seeing a few pictures. Hopefully there will be more pictures of corps this season, then I won't have to bother going to a show because I'll be able to determine what the shows are like from pictures.
  6. 5-10 points for a single performer? That's ludicrous! It should be covered in both music ensemble and music ge, I think that's plenty for a 1 person section.
  7. Gettysburg is an exibition for The Cadets and Crossmen. Kinda like a show and tell for the end of spring training
  8. Not to derail, but is there any chance of there ever being an option to turn off the filters on a user by user basis? I'm a big boy, I can handle a plethora of bad words.
  9. So you think that the stars of the shows you mentioned were the amps? BD 05 is the closest any corps has come to having amps be the star of the show, and they paid for it in their placement and I believe taught a valuable lesson to any other corps who had considered doing something similar. Even then there was some d*** good brass playing and drumming in BD 05, and I would say they were the intended stars of the show even though most people can't get past Yowza
  10. No, but you did say that voice was going to take the starring role, which is an overreaction. The sky is not falling (voice isn't taking the starring role).
  11. Sensationalist overreacting at it's best. Obviously changing a slogan means we are no longer watching drum corps.
  12. Umm... As far as I know SSB+OC has never been played during retreat... The song that was played during retreat WAS America the Beautiful/O' Canada Did people really think that it was SSB?
  13. Somehow I doubt that amplified voice is going to take the starring role in any drum corps shows this summer, or ever. The sky is not falling as fast as you would like to believe.
  14. Cavies 74.25 Bluecoats 71.3 Phantom 70.9 Glassmen 69.1 Southwind 60.15
  15. I doubt that they are jumping head first into something without considering whether or not they can financially support it.
  16. I would guess that every corps that has posted something this season has kept something up their sleeves. I just hope that for BD that something doesn't start with a Y and end in owza ^0^ :P
  17. I was unaware that facial hair was the mark of an individual experiencing life
  18. I think facial hair growing abilities are part of the audition at BD :P
  19. You should watch the videos, it's not faked. Unless someone went through a video frame by frame adding in lots of white stripes
  20. Hahaha But yeah, I'm not exactly sure how this stripe will effect the marching scores since it's not on the side of the leg, but if it's anything like a stripe down the side BD is going to have to deal with the dirt it exposes that may or may not have been there in past years (Not trying to open THAT can of worms)
  21. Well, broadway was probably not the best analogy to use, but oh well. The thing about not going with the "design for August" model is that it results in shows that are dumbed down. I don't want to give corps any reason to make their shows easier, because the hard is what makes it great for me. But that's my opinion, and everyone else is entitled to their own that's for sure.
  22. But with the nature of the activity and the time that the corps have, there is no way to offer the public the same value at every show. No matter how you slice it, the people who pay $30 to see the corps in August are getting a better value than the people who pay $30 to see corps in June. Does that mean they should charge less for earlier shows? Not really, considering it's already a pretty significant financial burden to host a show. It's just a fact of life. If you go to a broadway performance and the cast has an off night you don't get part of the ticket price back.
