  1. Hmm... lets see... recordings are typically made on Sunday after a long weekend of rehearsal, it's January, the line isn't even set yet, the corps has spent a total of probably 2 and a half days playing together. Wonder why it isn't August quality...
  2. I heard from inside sources that there were only 2 or 3 baritone vets returning for one reason or another.
  3. Come on, you come within a point of a corps and then you decide to show off at their busses while they are changing? Like I said before, do it on the field. When the show's over and you aren't the winner, don't say "Don't worry guys, we'll get them in the parking lot!" because in my opinion that's being a poor loser. The other corps is still taking home the trophy. Get up the next day, work your tail off, and maybe that night you'll catch up, but don't try to show off in the parking lot to try to prove something.
  4. Wow, that's incredibly classless and much less than I would expect from a group like Phantom.
  5. I don't think anyone said that everybody already saw the video. All that was said was that it was in the topic right around Thanksgiving
  6. Hah, in my earlier post when I said that I had seen my college band do it and that I was embarrassed that it was happening that's what I was refering to.
  7. By that logic shouldn't the Cadets have only scored a 98.825 if they were equal to the Cavies in 04? 0.125 is not a huge difference in the 12th place score.
  8. Actually it did http://www.drumcorpsplanet.org/forums//ind...dpost&p=1221757 I'm not complaining that you reposted it, I'm just saying...
  9. If I were a member I would be pretty ###### that I was paying $1500 and doing drum battles instead of cleaning the show like I paid for.
  10. I wouldn't have a problem with a sactioned event either, but I don't think that most of the people in this thread are talking about a sactioned event.
  11. Why not spend the time that the drumlines would be spending preparing for these "drumoffs" practicing the show instead? If a drumline has something to prove and feel that they are better than another drumline let them do it on the field. To me this just seems very "Oh we got beat on the field, don't worry though guys! We'll get them in the parking lot!" Who cares? The drumline that won is still going home with the drum trophy.
  12. Am I the only one that finds this to be really cheesy and lame? My college drum line has done this before and I couldn't help but be extremely embarrassed about the entire situation and how unbelievably "bando" it was, thankful that I play trumpet or I would have probably quit before doing something like that. This isn't Drumline
  13. If you take the color guard into consideration on the C side it looks like an S... Now what on earth would Jeff Sacktig put a JS on the field for?
  14. Who says they can't see a difference? Under the excellence subcaptions on the visual side (which are the execution portion of the scoring I believe. Half of the total caption scores are how good what you are given is (marching technique, percussion book, etc) and the other half is how good you execute what you are given): Visual Performance 9.9 to 8.8 Visual Ensemble 9.8 to 9.2 Colorguard 9.9 to 9.2 Looks to me like the judges saw a clear difference between Crown and the Cadets. I would list the same things for the music side, but they are very similar. I'm not sure what this has to do with the fact that Crown was visually executing better than the Cadets at the beginning of the season. Things change over the course of the season, corps get better at different rates, etc. Also, I make no claims that DCI should call me up and give me a green shirt, I've listened to judges tapes and I sure as #### couldn't do that.
  15. Do you honestly think that Crown and the Cadets were on the same level this past summer that if they switched uniforms Crown would have won? If you can't see a difference between the levels of execution of the two corps then don't go appyling for any judging positions any time soon... It takes more than years of tradition to win...
  16. So you're saying that Crown performed as well as the Cadets this year and just got screwed? Break out the tinfoil hats. Guess Santa Clara just didn't have the history to pull it off this year...
  17. God forbid you see an extra minute and a half of drum corps :P
  18. Favorite attempt to derail thread into another amps debate: jeffsnewjetta and NR_Ohiobando
